At Least Others Agree
At least we are not alone regarding the Pro-Bowl selections...........
In Pro-Football Weekly executive editor, DAn Arkush had this to say. Hey at least others paid attention. In the NFC (Pro-Bowl Roster) the inside linebackers are a joke. Morgan is a solid, hardworking player when healthy, but he has been injury-prone his entire career and missed four plus games this year due to concussisons. Jereemiah Trotter made soldi contributions for the Eagles against the run, but heading into Week 16 he had started just 7 games inside. Washington's ANTONIO PIERCE who emerged as the Redskins' leading tackler this season in addition to doing a sound job calling defensive signals was far more derservng than either Morgan or Trotter........... OTHER PLAYERS WHO GOT THE SHAFT............Redskins DET Cornelius Griffin............ |

Don't they always send the NFC/AFC runner up coaching staff? (IE the Eagles)

I'm thinking it's sort of a good thing that we didn't have a bunch of guys named to the Pro Bowl, knowing how Willliams is he'll hold that carrot in front of the D to keep them hungry again next year.

The Pro Bowl is stupid. I know the guys like to get the recognition, but the roster is always filled with big name players and guys on the teams with the best record. The player and fan voters rarely go deep enough to see who the most deserving truely are. What will happen is that if the Redskins have a good season next year some of these guys will go to the pro bowl even if their individual performance was not as good as this year.

If we were at least 10-6 this year, the NFC defense would be filled with Redskins. I look to see more 'Skins in their next year...but I would rather see us playing in the Super Bowl.

Pierce and Griffin were the most glaring snubs but they aren't exactly household names just yet.
If they have strong seasons again next year and probably more importantly if the Skins have a winning record, then they'll be much more likely to be named to the Pro Bowl. |
