Amen. The base allows themselves to get distracted from the issues that really matter.

How you can view gay marriage as more important than wars or finding jobs for the 9% of citizens who are unemployed is beyond me. Actual lives and livelihoods are a lot more important than whether a gay dude can get married or whether he has to just live together with his life partner.
