Re: Did D. Hall Just Blast Zorn and the Inept Offense?
I sure hope D Hall does not return to his old ways.

Re: Did D. Hall Just Blast Zorn and the Inept Offense?
He's just stating the obvious. If the Skins are going to win, it's going to be because of the Defense. He's just holding them accountable. Now if he was really being truthful, he would have said the D needs to score 1-2 TDs a game in order for them to have any chance of beating a half-way decent team.

Re: Did D. Hall Just Blast Zorn and the Inept Offense?
I didn't see anything wrong w/ Hall's comments, in fact I thought they were measured and thoughtful. I bet anything most of the defense feels just as he spoke: there is not margin for error because a single touchdown allowed i.e. 7 points, may result in a team loss.
I am starting to wonder how much players are considering the bigger picture, that is how awful the intuition/talent/thought-process within the FO must be to have created this situation. Many of the guys on the roster played under Gibbs/Williams. The FO boots two extremely talented coaches in Williams and Saunders for a guy w/ exactly zero OC/HC experience. Specifically, Williams had already been through the HC gamut once and probably learned a great deal from it and he had the respect of the roster. I clearly remember CP talking about how much he respected Williams and that's no small thing. ...my question is how long do players dedicate themselves when they recognize the real decision-makers within the organization can't get shit right?

I'm pretty sure Blache drills it into their heads that they shouldn't give up any TD's. That's certainly the mindset you'd like them to have.

Re: Did D. Hall Just Blast Zorn and the Inept Offense?
Even Sonny's blasting Zorn:
"Third down, I'm the quarterback, and you call the halfback throwing the ball for me, I'm calling timeout or calling an audible," Jurgensen said. "I'm not letting the halfback throw it. That's what you pay me for." "Well, then, I would have to take you out of the game," Zorn countered. "As soon as you called timeout, I'd say what's wrong with my play, because...." "It didn't work!" Jurgensen interrupted. There was a long pause. "No, but I called it to work. All right?" Zorn said. "We called it to work. It didn't work. There were a lot of plays out there that didn't work. And I'd take you out of the game. Sorry, Sonny." |
