Yeah, but our top players are going to be playing all out for the pride of their home land.

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread

Caps hockey is finally back, and I think Ovi is going to be hungry as hell for a cup.

Also thought it was interesting to note that Buffalo netminder Ryan Miller received a standing O from Pittsburgh last night (bigger than Crosby's applause). Hopefully he takes another night off against the Caps tonight.

New acquisition Scott Walker has 2 goals in the 3rd! The other 2 look to be contributing a ton too. So ready for this run!

Yeah that was great to see, we look poised for a deep run.

Here's the interview Caps GM George McPhee did with Elliot in the Morning yesterday:

Looks like the hit that got Ovi throw out of today's game might cost the checkee the rest of his season:

After hit by Alexander Ovechkin, Chicago Blackhawks' Brian Campbell to possibly miss rest of season - ESPN Chicago

It's too bad because it was really just more of a push and the guy just took a header.

It's also too bad because it was an otherwise awesome comeback by the Caps and a huge road win.

Again, this led to NO suspension.

Do you think the Danny has to go also? Hasn't even made a conference title game since he has been the owner.

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread

Its such BS that Ovechkin gets 2 games for an boarding call that wasn't even a hit from behind. Matt Cooke's hit on Marc Savard got a new rule implemented in the NHL - but his didn't get a game misconduct, suspension, or fine.

The only reason Ovechkin got what he got is because the NHL thinks he is a dirty player. However, there is a difference between dirty and intense. The perfect example is Sean Taylor.

Yeah, just comes with the attention he gets I guess. I've seen way worse, the guy just didn't brace himself well.

Re: Washington Capitals 2009-2010 ongoing thread

No one can say we're a one man team, we dominate even without him, hell we've looked great in pretty much every game without him. Not to say he brings the team down by any means, I think some of the players focus on getting him the puck more because you know what he can do with it. Either way, we're a great team, let's bring that cup to DC.

2 goals in less than 2 minutes apart to go up 3-2 on the pens. I love it! Semin's goal was so dirty too...
