I would rather have the bag tim tebow was puking in after his concussion than any of those.

LMAO!!

Anyway, if I HAD to pick one, it would be Brady Quinn just because he has had so few starts on such a bad team. He's got the proverbial upside that none of these other guys do anymore IMO. Leinart hasn't done squat despite a solid chance to play and phenomenal receivers. His desire, work ethic, and arm strength have all been questioned. VY has done nothing but regress since his fluky rookie year. Jamarcus Russell could possibly be the worst QB in the NFL. Such a waste of a massive cannon of an arm. And Alex Smith? That dude is still in the NFL??

Not that I wouldn't mind seeing if one of these guys could do it, but I wouldn't want to give up anything for them, not even a 5th probably. If one was cut, sure, but that's about it.

i think its pretty clear that smith, russell, and young will never be good nfl quarterbacks. however i believe that quinn and leinhart shouldnt be considered busts yet. quinn has barely played, and leinhart has been behind kurt warner who led them to the super bowl...my choice would be between quinn and leinhart, but quinn would edge it just because i believe he is a better leader with a stronger arm.

I'd consider a 5th for either of those.. or a 6th and a 3rd stringer or something. I just can't see it being worth it when we're trying to develop QBs from later rounds or unsigned, I guess that you have more possibilities with a Quinn or Leinart though.. a few seasons of never playing and you can completely kill the rhythm that these guys needed to get going to be successful NFL QBs.. and I think another reason that some of our WRs never develop anywhere else either; nobody wants them anymore and if they do get picked up, nobody really looks at them as a starting option, plus they've sat their way out of being able to make a difference.

Re: Jason Campbell for Vince Young ? Who would you rather have?

You know, when looking at all the VIABLE options, ones that I consider an upgrade to the position, there really aren't that many proven alternatives to replace JC with a better PROVEN quarterback. It looks like we are gonna have to roll the dice with either Sam Bradford or Pike from Cincy (Whom I think will be a monster of a QB in this league, 6 foot 5 inches and tough as nails, shit, he'd have to be to play here......). We actually might end up either trading JC and a first round pick (Which ours should be decent, pick 7 - 11 methinks) for someone proven, or just trade him away for a 3rd and 4th round pick, draft Bradford or Pike like I said, and use the 2nd rounder, the two 3rds on the best available offensive lineman, regardless of "tackle" or "guard", since we dont give a fuck anyway, we shuffle those peckerheads more than a deck of Bicycle Reds.

Actually, even tho some might not want to rebuild, I think thats what it has come to. Hopefully with our defense staying relatively studly, I can see us becoming the 2nd reincarnation of the Falcons of present, maybe even a tad better given our D. I also support trading Clinton "Run into my own fucking guys back, fall down, repeat" Portis for a middle of the road 1st to late 1st rounder (if we can squeeze that out with a team hurting for a good RB) and with that pick, roll the dice on the best WR available to opposite Moss. A good 2nd, with Moss, Cooley and a younger, better OL would definitely be an upgrade to what we have this year.

Maybe there are better moves, and maybe Im smokin the chronic thinking Portis is worth a late first rounder, but shit, even a second rounder would suffice. Given the lack of production, the two backups we have now, I dont really see that big of a dropoff, if there even is any.

So, I guess thats my General Manager / Head Coaching moves if I ruled the world.........or, at least was able to wrestle control of the skins away from Money Boy............

Comments????

Thoughts???

Am I right on, accurate, or completely fucking off my rocker??????

Re: Jason Campbell for Vince Young ? Who would you rather have?

Quinn can't even beat out Anderson who goes 2-17. Doesn't have an NFL arm.
Russell is just a total bust and doesn't even carry himself like a pro.
Smith might be worse than Quinn cause he can't beat of Shawn Hill.
Young will never have the pocket game but is probably better than Quinn, Russell and Smith cause he has the mobility.
Leinart is pretty interesting and if he comes available I'd take a look at him. He's played well in some games and has probably learned a lot from Warner.

I said Leinart on gut instinct, but these here are good reasons to support it.

The way i look at it they all suck, but Leinart had two probowl wr's to work with and still couldnt get it done. He isn't playing because he did zilch while starting.

Leinart and Quinn are about the same prospect at this point, with the same strengths and weaknesses, and the same college resume with limited pro success, and same ridiculous questions about "arm strength".

Picking one over the other would be simply deciding which handedness you'd rather try to protect based on current personnel.

Everyone else on this list has had ample starting time to show something, but haven't. Quinn and Leinart may still both be good quarterbacks yet. I wouldn't bet on both of them getting the opportunity though, seems like one or the other is going to get a chance.

Re: Jason Campbell for Vince Young ? Who would you rather have?

Keep JC or draft a QB are two options we have. Thing is the Saints just released Chase Daniel to make room for their kicker that was suspended to return so that is an option also. It was foolish to let Chase go so soon. He looked a lot more poised than Brennan and played big time college ball to boot. The system needs to get the boot by the way, not JC. I don't see why they thought Kelly or Thomas were going to make it in the WCO. Mich State has more of a pro style vertical passing attack offense. If they were going to run a WCO or WCO variant at least they should have tried to draft guys that were somewhat familiar with the setup. The WCO is a dinosaur anymore.

Yeah the guys in the poll all suck wad!!!! You would be better off with reacquiring Gus Frerotte than that list of jokers. Frerotte went 8-3 last season with the Vikes. Not the best stats for sure, but at least he got the job done.
