Exactly, it's a non-story.

I hardly think it's a "non-story." The fact that Largent says one thing - they pulled out the contract & said, you must do this... - and Vinny says another - that they never used the contract to force Zorn into giving up play calling, makes it news. That is indicative of what we've seen over the years out of Danny & Vinny. They always seems to be at total odds w/their employees, even their fans.

If you're interested in Zorn's situation & would like to know how much of this debacle is his fault, I think this is far from a non-story.

Boy, talk about kicked you while you're down, the vamps are having a good time with continuing the onslaught. Tracee Hamilton and Sally Jenkins writing for the Wash.Post, Don Banks of Sports Illus. Mike Sando of ESPN, all having a field day the last few days saying the same thing we've al been saying and knowing for years.

Somewhere Jim Fassel is saying to himself, man that could have been me.

Well lets just say MNF will be very interesting this week lol, You know damn well that Zorn wants to quit but he wants that money so deep down inside he wants this team to get DESTROYED monday. Of course our offense can't get any worse but if we do get shut out Zorn would be cracking up on Snyder.

For a 2-4 team, people outside of Redskins fans sure talk about the Redskins a lot these days. Win or lose, we're always in the national news.

So now we got Tre Johnson, Tony Kornheiser, John Kent Cooke, John Riggins, and now Steve Largent taking shots at Snyder. Oh please let all this criticism result in Vinny getting fired.

There's certainly tons of scrunity pointed toward the Skins front office. I think that is a great thing but I hope it doesn't go in vain.

At the end of the season, Snyder could end up hiring a some no name GM who can be easily be influenced by advancement and money and he'd get to wipe the slate clean and have his influence back again.

I hope the stress for Skins fans this offseason is to have Snyder get a known commidity as GM in front office.

I wouldn't mind a no name GM if he was from a trusted and respected front office that knows what the hell it's been doing for the last ten years, i.e. Pats, Steelers, Ravens, etc. Also one who could show Snyder upfront to let him run the show but also make Snyder feel like he's important, kinda like what Jimmy Johnson said.

Eric DeCosta current director of player personnel from the Ravens, started his NFL career as an intern with the Redskins in 1995 (pre-Snyder). He's supposed to be a hot up and coming candidate for a GM position. Another player personnel guy is Brian Gaine (current assistant director of player personnel for the Dolphins). He's also supposed to be a hot gun with previous experience with the Cowboys before going to Miami w/ Jeff Ireland.

Keep an eye also on Jimmy Raye III with the Chargers (son of former Redskins assistant coach Jimmy Raye), and Lionel Vital with the Falcons (former Redskin player). Those are two other up and comers

What I meant was a no name GM essentially from one of Snyder's business branches. You know he has tons of executives that he'd love to give a job to in order to keep his over sight on the team.

Jimmy Johnson's comment was pretty much a joke because he said you'd have to find a ficitious 'magic man' that would be able to run the show and make Snyder feel involoved...basically saying that's impossible.

Re: Steve Largent rips Snyder's handling of the team

Steve Largent said what need to be said...and its all the truth.

The most telling thing about his whole statement was the fact that Vinny and Danny actually pulled out Zorn's contract and said you have to do whatever the owner says.....that is insane, and if it isn't meddling I don't know what is. Dan Snyder might legitamately be mentally ill, im dead serious. We might have a ceritified nutjob running our Skins.

I still can't get over the fact that a guy who has been out of the league for 5 years and with the team for 2 weeks is actually calling our plays and the head coach has no power to stop it....complete laughing stock. I am embarassed for the Skins.

and to all the people who say our O can't get worse with Lewis calling the plays....oh yes it can and it will, MNF is going to be ugly. I seriously will not be surprised in JZ quits at halftime.

Re: Steve Largent rips Snyder's handling of the team

It's one thing to be patient, it's another to just let a mess continue. Keeping Zorn (and Vinny) around much longer is just letting a mess continue.

Additionally, I think if Snyder had less patience either Williams or Fassel would be our head coach but instead he put it in VC's hands to go through a process and be the one to select our head coach. This process it turns out included vindictiveness and has turned rather disastrous for us.
