Good point. Except Snyder has never been willing to make the call and at this point I think those individuals would not pick up when they saw a 703 area code on the caller ID. The first part of that statement is why I would be skeptical even if Gibbs returned. I am a huge fan, but I just have trouble believing that Snyder will ever completely divorce himself from football operations.

But, unless you count Gregg Williams, who was the last Snyder hire in any capacity who actually was capable of doing the role Snyder hired him for?

Gibbs was a no-brainer hire at the time, and he'd be a no-brainer hire in this situation. Plus, it's something Snyder can't screw up, which is valuable.
