Re: Cooley Out for the YEAR!!

This will show how much of we took for granted Cooley's blocking. I feel like Davis stepped up and receiving wise it won't be that huge of a loss but at the same time we will sorely miss Cooley blocking wise.

Uhhh Chris Cooley is a pass catching tight end. I have seen him called out as a pass blocker countless times.

I definitely wasn't saying Cooley was an elite blocker, but he did a decent job and had a few bad plays mixed in. Compare that to Davis, who looked almost as bad as Heyer trying to stop Trent Cole. Davis brings almost nothing to the table as a blocker, his value is solely as a pass catcher.

He just has to get some reps in doing it, Cooley wasn't really any better when he came into the NFL.

I hope all Davis needs is some reps and practice at blocking and hopefully he'll get better because we'll obviously be counting on him for the rest of the season.

And I am telling you Cooley is a below average blocker at the very best.

HE IS A PASS CATCHING TIGHT END. PERIOD.

I like Cooley very much, but he is what he is.

And I am telling you that Cooley did a serviceable job at least. He sure as hell wasn't a world beater but more often than not he did a decent job. WHICH WE SURE CAN'T SAY THE SAME FOR FRED DAVIS.

I AGREE HE IS A PASS CATCHING TIGHT END. Jesus Christ.

All I'm saying is that for as bad as you believe Cooley's blocking was, prepare to see how much worse it could be once he's gone for the year.

It's not good when your second string TE is almost as bad as your starting LT at pass blocking.

So much for Heyer being our best offensive player thus far I guess.

I think Heyer could be a quality backup in the future, but as of right now he's not starting caliber. I'm still having nightmares about Cole beating him like a red headed stepchild. The only time he was stopping Cole was when he was taking him to the ground or giving him a chokehold lol.

If you want a blocking TE put in Yoder than. Lets use F.Davis strengths which is his pass catching. Not only Davis cant block but half the O-Line cant block. WTF happen to Sellers blocking this year? He is playing soft and i never see his man on the ground.

Re: Cooley Out for the YEAR!!

Yeah man that replay looked downright nasty...he just stepped wrong and "POP" there it went.

...Davis can become a better blocker and he showed promise tonight. But let's not fool ourselves, it makes no difference who gets injured the oline is a joke and Jason has regressed sharply. This season is over...it's actually very hard to find another win on the schedule...we'll be very "lucky" to win 4 games total.

Zorn is now the Team Nurse?

Better than playcaller, I guess.
