Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
I know what it feels like when the board harps on you. Canton Legend, if you are CP, I couldn't care less.
Why they ride Clinton's ass like a govt mule, I don't know? LB and him fumble, but that happens. Rock, well he never sees the ball long enough to fumble. My solution, run Rock! All of the RBs are around the same age. They'll all need to be replaced soon.

Ummm, no. Not sure what all the fascination with Betts and Rock is but although Betts does not fumble every game he does fumble and he will do it at the most in opportune time. I thank him for his services though. I will give him props that he has been running North/South and gaining yrds even if its one yrd. Rock, Ummm, no again. I thank him also for his participation no matter how small it is, but utilizing him as a full time RB? I don't see it panning out. He runs more East/West usually. I will give him his props though also. Lately he has run more North/South and has looked good carrying the ball when Betts is blocking for him. I heard Ganther actually looked good Sat. I didn't see him but I was told he trucked two people carrying the ball. Maybe we should keep him and can the rest in the off season and pick up another RB to be the power back. |

Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
This would be so funny if that is actually Clinton Portis. Wanna know something seriously funny? THe "official clinton portis" facebook page tried to add me as a friend...
I don't think that CantonLegend is a racist as somebody accused, but his statements were controversial, like blacks are genetically faster, etc...thats too funny

Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
I dont really think Portis is a Joe Gibbs running back. The Joe Gibbs runningback was a big bruiser, ala John Riggins.
I will give credit to CP for being a great blocker, but i think it's unfair to him to compare him to a Joe Gibbs runningback. Portis is a pudgy 220 pounds. he has looked really out of shape the last couple of weeks. Riggins i guess was a drinker and a smoker, a little out of shape but he still made the big runs....

Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
Okay the feeling i'm getting from this thread is that people are pointing out the problems that Portis is now having, and how nobody wants to realize it. It isn't so much a "hating" on Portis. I think this all wouldnt be so bad if his attitude wasnt so bad. He's going downhill fast, but you can't feel bad for him because he is being an a-hole to people all the time.
These things we know as fact: 1)Portis has reached the point in his career where is breaking down (2,000 carries) 2)Portis doesnt have the breakaway moves or speed like he did. 3)He often trips, falls down, etc. behind the line of scrimmage. 4)Refusing to practice, there is NO WAY he develops any kind of rythym with the team. 5)His performance at this point does not justify keeping him and his insane salary. Like i've said before. We can still get productivity out of him if we get somebody to share carries. I think that should be Betts, but i doubt Portis lets them do that.

Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
Okay, I'm about to blow the lid off this theory I have. I submit that CantonLegend is Clinton Portis! I'm calling it right now, right here.
I got to thinking, Clinton Portis was born in Mississippi. So I'm sure most folks from that region probably grew up as Saints fans. So I Googled anything about Portis from the past to see if he liked the Saints growing up. I found an interview from 2004 saying just that. Check this out near the bottom. IGN: Clinton Portis Interview CP, I want tickets!! LOL Hey, man I didn't mean any of that shit I said earlier! I think you're the best dude!! LOL |

Re: Portis is a BIG problem!!!
I'm telling you it's no coincidence, Portis grew up a Saints fan, and this guy comes to a Portis thread defending him with a Saints logo. CantonLegend to boot.
