This helmet sucks. I agree we should use the 70th anniversary uniforms with spear helmets those we tight. I loved the ol ball coach if he was given the right players he could have made it work.

We've had a great run with helmets but that concept is one of the WORST I have ever seen.

Right now, our current uniform set is one of the best in the NFL. It's so classic and looks so great color- and design-wise that it should not be touched. If we do change, I vote for the return of the spear or the Lombardi set, both are great, but our current ones are the best and there is no reason to change or even tweak them.

Wearing white-on-white should be banned though, I hate the look.

I'm not a big fan of the Lombardi version just because it made us look too much like the Green Bay Packers. But I do agree about going with the spear 'n feather.

Maybe if we ever do start a new era without the current coaching staff, and front office..maybe a change in uniform is what we also need? Nah....I'm too much of a classic junkie myself.

I agree. The burgundy and gold is very original and classy.

I love the idea of using the script R as our helmet logo somehow, if not the old spear. Maybe a gold R outlined in white on the Burgundy helmet, or some variation of that.

Oh and FSU's spear design debuted in 1976, 11 years after Washington first used theirs. I'm guessing FSU's was designed in the likeness of the old Redskins spear, but they tweaked a few things besides the shell color. (length of spear, jagged arrowhead as opposed to our straight arrowhead, thickness of spear, position of feathers)

I think Utah's helmet looks a lot like ours too.

Its only a matter of time before the Skins change their name and logo but this helmet just wont do it. I prefer the spear for a past helmet.

Shit, that is what it is!!!!! You want a new helmet go to the burgundy throwback helmet with the spear. Shoot I would take the yellow helmets with the big R on them over this piece of crap.

My favorite is the single feather on the back that acts like the helment stripes.

If any changes were made I'd hope it would be to this. They could even update it maybe to look like the current stripes on the helment but in the shape of the feather and same colors.

Obviously though I'd prefer no changes be made to our current.

^ I hate the feather down the top of the helmit. However I could see some compromise....perhaps enlarging the Indian face to fit the whole side of the helmit and turn the feather into a chiefs head dress going down the top center of the helmit to the back.

Or another option would be to jazz up the Lumbardi helmit. Maybe change the color to Burgandy and put a Gold "R" on it. Maybe use a different type of script. Or use the "R" helmit in either burgandy or gold and add the arrow either behind or over the "R".
