i don't believe he is worth that kind of money. but on a team that struggles to create turn overs, you take them any way you can. and Rogers cant even make the ones he is handed. and with McNabb, Hassleback, Brees, and both Manning's on your list, im not sure of your point

One way I think we could create more turnovers is using our top three or five pass rushing unit to force fumbles, but that requires an agressive man-lock, or mixed-zone scheme to take away options for the quarterback.

The interceptions Hall gets certainly help our defense, I'd say a lot more than most people realize since those aren't factored into our defensive rank, but it's not like he's a rare bird or anything. The Redskins don't have very many players that do what Hall does, but most every other team does. These players aren't really in demand either, because coaches can't do anything schematically with them, except to put them in the game and hope quarterbacks make some bad decisions out there. Coaches like to think in terms of match-ups, and you can't really scheme anything with Hall, as he does one thing very well: turn and run.

So while Hall offers something we sorely need, you're right, the bottom line is that we're paying a lot of money for a guy who doesn't have any total value from a football operations perspective. His role absolutely needs to be filled though, as you can't have a secondary full of Fred Smoots.

By comparison, I'd say Springs was more of a play-creator than Hall ever has been, but Hall's here because he can stay healthy and Springs can't.
