We just all need to relax here. I didnt sense any racism in these posts.. There is no racism on this board. That is the kind of garbage you see over at extremeskins, trust me on that guys.

I dont think anybody can deny that the offense has looked better with Portis out. I can't scientifically say why, but we can look at the stat sheets and see where the other backs have made more of a difference. Are they as good all around as Portis? Probably not. But Portis hasn't been healthy since last year, and he is showing his age and is in a decline...Portis has tons of carries and lots of total yardage, and at some point any back breaks down.

I think they could maximize what he has left by using him in a 50/50 type role like other teams do. But i dont see him personally going for that....

I think a big reason the back-ups are running better than Portis is that they are actually practicing with the line while CP sits out of practice nursing injuries. Practicing with the line has given the back-ups a sense of timing the holes and the line has a sense of the backs timing in hitting those holes. CP just hasnt practiced enough to develop that sense of timing with the line and as a result his performance has suffered.

i would agree, but Betts is missing practice now. It's a grueling job to be a smashmouth runningback. Practices are gonna be missed. It makes it hard with the line itself in flux. It's just a down year for Portis, you don't get rid of a work horse that quickly. Betts has had his chances before and has fumbled them away. I am scared of what might happen. People are saying Portis misses practices Why???? Why, the same reason Betts is missing practices this week. Remember when he played in that preseason game and hurt his shoulder? People!!! don't think this is not a normal situtaion. Riggo drinking booze at the practice facility? Joey T needs to man up. Gibbs let Riggo get away with the same stuff. In the interview, Gibbs said he let him do what he wanted. Riggo had Kelvin Bryant and Joe Washington. Remember????

True, practices will be missed and Betts will miss some this week but he has practiced much more that CP this year. My point is that I cant remember the last time CP had a full week of practice. I know he's dinged and its a viscious circle where CP cant practice because he's dinged and he isnt productive because he cant practice. Practice is important for timing and right now CP just cant get enough reps to get his timing down.
