Feel bad for Betts. I hope his career isn't over.

Being a class act, doesn't mean you comeback strong, at 31, he should think about the rest of his life and retire, he be lucky if he can walk straight again, or can go the rest of his life, without major knee pain's....... this is sad, but just makes it easier to clean house next year.

I've always liked Betts & wished that he didn't have fumbling issues in the past. He's had a history of little nagging injuries, but this obviously sounds pretty serious.

While I would ideally love to see him back next year, it might be best for all if he just retires. It will really be a test of his will to come back strong enough to regain his form. I can't see him coming back at near the same level.

Horrible luck.

If Rock doesn't fumble, I'm confident in him being our starter until Portis can come back, but he's already ruled out for Week 12. Ganther hasn't impressed me.

If we lose Rock also, we should use ARE and DT in the backfield and go Wildcat on any plays we're not throwing in a 4WR set. What else COULD we do? Run with Sellers 15 times?

At least Marko should definitely be on the active roster with only 2 active RBs.

I wouldn't mind seeing Davis come out of the backfield some, maybe not being an up the gut runner, but more of a hybrid type of guy. I think that I've read that he's done some stuff in that regard.

Marcus Mason's name was brought up in pressers yesterday. I believe Anthony Alridge is still available as well.

But with the numerous injuries yesterday, there will definitely be some shuffling today and tomorrow.

I suspect they'll bring Mason back for sure now

That makes all the sense in the world now. Let him split the load with Rock. I don't see either as a 20-25 carry workhorse, but give them 10-12 carries each, and perhaps they can be very productive. My concern with Mason is always his shaky blitz pick-ups.

Will be interesting to see if they decide to bring him back, or if he really want's to come back. He didn't seem too pleased the last time he was released, he sounded as if the in & out was getting to him.

If he's unemployed he'll be back....

Speaking of unemployed, is Edge still a free agent? Would anyone bring him here for the vet min?

You're probably right, being unemployed has a way of doing that to you.

That is what happens when a front office worries too much about public opinion. We should have picked Larry Johnson for an emergency like this.

In hindsight it's easy to say they should've picked up LJ, but from what I heard Zorn say I think he was right in not doing so & saying he would stick w/the guys that have been here. And for one week that worked quite well as Betts had 114 v. denver. That's why they re-signed him a few years ago. No one could've predicted such a bad injury to betts.

LJ could really cause some chemistry problems on a team that is at least coming together & playing hard.
