A statistic worth citing...

The good folks at SportsFan magazine post some of my rants on their website - www.sportsfanmagazine.com. This morning, they asked all their contributors to send them a Super Bowl pick and a short comment. Here is what I sent them:


Eagles, 28-27

Terrell Owens catches a 75-yard pass down the sidelines with 10 seconds to play; he falls when his ankle breaks again at the 10 yardline; the ball squirts into the endzone where Freddie Mitchell wrestles it away from Rodney Harrison. In the ensuing celebration on the sidelines, Donovan McNabb reaches down the back of his pants and pulls out a picture of Rush Limbaugh. Andy Reid leaps into the air and when he lands there is an earthquake off the coast of Jacksonville that creates a tsunami, which inundates every Caribbean island. Other than that, it's your typical boring Super Bowl game...

Great...so not only do the Eagles win but my family in the Caribbean is swept away by a Reid tsunami. You're nothing but good times Curmudgeon aren't you?

Sorry smootsmack. Maybe Reid can't get off the ground to generate the quake that triggers the tsumnami?

My guess is that if he were jumping center for a recreation league basketball team, you'd have trouble slipping a post card under his shoes...

What I'm really worried about is this, remember how Reid said if TO scored 15 TDs this season he would wear some spandex tights? Well TO is at 14 TDs if he scores a touchdown on Sunday is that #15 or did it only apply to the regular season? Also, will the general public have to be subjected to Reid in tights?

I believe Andy Reid said that he will be wearing some of those velcro rip-away pants (like the strippers wear) so that he will be ready when TO scores number 15. The spandex tights are definitely going to be... well... tight. Make sure you ask young children to cover thier eyes.
