i don't. i am totally against sending any more troops anywhere. the middle east is a mess. always has been, always will be. unless they have a drastic change on philosophy( which i highly doubt) and as far as the award, it was awarded long before this decision was made. should he have won it? that's water under the bridge

It's not a big deal anymore. They gave the Peace Prize to Yasser Arafat. How do you give a "Peace Prize" to the head of the PLO?

Although I guess I could care less, it looks like Carter was in office at the time (1980).

Anyway, nice speech. The words themselves carry a lot of weight with me, regardless of who says them.

I am curious (especially with your earlier "read the speech" comment) did you read his speech? I thought he made a point of addressing that specific sentiment.
