He's not starting a trend, he's just one of many who have done the same. Now Brett is competing at a much higher level at the older age, but he's not the first QB to play well into his 40s.

I think Frank Tarkenton may be one of the "founders" of the feat.
I had actually forgotten about Testaverde. He's the oldest QB to ever start and win a game in NFL history. Moon, Kreig are slightly younger, Green is only 39 now. Tarkenton, Blanda and Testaverde all share the distinction of being the oldest QB's to play in the NFL.
