This means that if Shanahan does come here, he will focus on coaching, and that makes me happy.

Of course, this also might mean that Shanahan will go to Dallas because he will have full control, including personnel. That also would make me happy.

Word has it that Jerry Reese might be in trouble. I see a Cerrato-Zorn hiring in your future

Jerry Reese is one of best young GM's out there, if they are blaming him for the Giants woes this year, then those people don't know squat. The Giants problems this year are due to major injuries, especially in the secondary and on the LB positions.

I am glad VC is gone. With that said, I thought he did have some solid personnel moves. His real problem was that he was all about Vinny - cross him and he just got petty. His presser ignoring Zorn (actually, thumbing his nose at Zorn by mentioning Blache and Lewis but nary a word on JZ) is just the latest example. Ultimately, this just breeds spite and infighting as employees/players jockey for position or worry more about covering their ass then the bottom line - winning.

Allen, hopefully, will get the team aspect - he certainly seems to based on his statements and past performance. If the attitude can change, the FO focuses on a long term plan, and the players buy into it, Allen can be a very good GM for us for a very long time.

Yeah, no maroon and black comments from the Second Coming of Allen.

I have always wondered where I could get a maroon and yellow tie.

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Cerrato resigns (Bruce Allen hired as VP/GM) - merged

Heard the news on Elliot in the Morning this morning and it caught me completely by suprise.

The first thing that popped into my head was an old saying that i'm about to butcher along the lines of, "once people get what they've wanted forever, sometimes they don't know what to do with it."

What I mean by that is, now that we the fans have gotten what we've wanted for so long, how will we adjust if the Bruce Allen era doesn't go any better, or perhaps even worse, than Cerrato's tenure? Will Bruce Allen get a pass even if he doesn't work any better than Cerrato did, just because he might not've done anything as remotely stupid as Cerrato might've done?

For me, here's to a long and successfull tenure of Bruce Allen/whatever coach he wants to hire. May he fare much better than his predecessor.

Question: When we win the SB next year Will anyone say - yes but he won it with the team Cerrato built?

No, because in all likelihood we will draft some lineman. If our offense gets better instantly then everyone on here will think they have what it takes to GM the redskins.
