Re: Do You Want Jason Campbell Back in 2010?

Best thread in a while....

I look at it this way. If you took JC and dropped him in NE what would they do? I think he's a 4000/30TD guy there. Certainly not as good as Brady but I think he'd succeed wildly. Is he ever going to be a dynamic play maker that turns turd players into gold like Manning or Brees? No. But he has the same physical skill set that Tom Brady does. He struggles mentally compared to Brady but he isn't a dolt. I do have suspicions about his read ability. Part of me wonders if he has so much football in his head that he is lost in a football jungle but I also see the guy get destroyed every other play, lay on the ground for a few seconds and then get up and take the next snap. If I am an offensive player that freaking inspires me. His on field example is just top-notch to me.

And Rave...you forget what Ramsey was like after a couple seasons. JC is 5 times the QB Ransey ever was. He had didn't have the head for it at all and then he got scared.

Agreed. I have a creeping fear that if we let JC go, in the future we are cursing it when he beats us while playing for someone else.

You should know by now that all you have to do is blitz him. He's got lead feet and has a strong tendacy to fumble the ball!! That's the kind of quarterback that def just look for once in a while. Of course, our Def right now is a whole different topic.

No way.

There-in lies the problem. Brady makes checks and plays based on what he sees in the D. I see JC doing very little, if any of that. Hell, he can't even read CB blitzes.

Well, that's not exactly fair. He has read CB blitzes before, despite his failure against the Cowboys.

I disagree...Brady has been running that offense for years and has a good line and weapons. JC is going on the second year and they don't let him really make any audibles. It was Portis who said he hadn't heard an audible since he was in Denver.

I wonder what changed

Q: What is the trademark of this offense compared to the one you ran before?

A: The trademark of the offense is mismatches, actually. It is finding a way to get guys one-on-one. Before it was, “This is what we are going to do no matter what they do. They have to stop us.” And you know, fortunately for them, more than not, they had the opportunity to stop us. We didn’t have audibles before. Right now if we are in a bad play, we can get out of that play. Jason has the opportunity to put up the audibles and change things around and get us points. So I think everybody is just excited

No freakin way. Brady sees the field better, he's more accurate, he doesn't hold on to the ball, he anticipates wr's coming out of their breaks better and no one feels the rush like Brady does. Need I go on?
