That is great news! No complaints from me there. Looks like we're going to the 3-4, though.

Thats pretty surprising, but no complaints here either. I'm not a "Campbell fan" my any means, but I don't like any of the "first round QBs" at all. Perhaps Shanahan isn't impressed with any of them either. Or maybe, he sees something in Campbell he can work with.

We have enough needs on our team as it is already, especially if we're switching to a 3-4. If we can scratch Starting QB off the list, we can be competitive much sooner.

EDIT - I was wrong, for some reason i thought he was the steelers old LB coach who'd left to do something in college, but, but he's still with the team. His bio says he's "quality control/defense" so this is definitely a promotion for him. He's been with the Steelers since 1996, and so he's been part of one of the best defenses in modern football. very solid pickup in my opinion.

Pittsburgh Steelers Head Coach -

Whoever hacked into BHA's account, just save yourself a ban and confess now

Perhaps. Or perhaps we keep Campbell and draft a QB to take over by midseason anyway. Or perhaps this all sets up the return of Meidt's recommendation from last year...Chase Daniel!

LOL, hey I call it like I see it. I like both moves. All though now the conspiracy-theory side of me is starting to think maybe we are just retaining Meidt to make other teams THINK we want to retain Campbell, thereby increasing his trade value. Strategery!

Yeah who knows.. maybe Shanahan likes what he saw/heard from Meidt and wanted a role for him, we're not even sure of the role yet are we? I guess I'll have to look to see who helped develop QBs under Shanahan previously.

Re: Coaching Staff update

Meidt seemed to do a good job working with Lewis on the play calling and game plan stuff. Good to see him retained.

Re: Coaching Staff update

Watch we're going to trade Campbell for a mid-round pick...and then use that pick to trade for Chris Simms...and then we'll all owe BHA an apology for laughing when he suggested we trade JC for CS
