Re: Coaching Staff update

After mulling over the overall coaching hires. I actually like the staff for us. The biggest issue that I saw of past coaching staffs is that that I got a feel that there were too many chiefs and not enough indians. Too many spoons in the pot. This time around I feel that Shanny is the one and only chief.

So far I like the mix of this staff as well. Clearly, where a coach that Shanahan et al were comfortable with, they went with them, but the assistants all seem solid and reputable. With WR, and maybe strength and conditioning(don't recall hearing anything about that position) left to fill, I am impressed with what looks to be a very cohesive group. I am glad that there are no apparent grandfather clause, or I've got pictures, type hirings, and that each one seems to live up to the threshold MS set, meaning that they know their position better than MS does.

Will it all work right? we will see. So far 2010 has been a solid year for me as a Redskins fan!

This made me laugh. In a haha funny way as well as a we always seem to win the offseason chuckle of uneasiness.

WR coach? Anyone? Anyone?

Last I heard no one's been named.

This could be a clue

In other coaching news, former Tampa Bay receivers coach Richard Mann - a candidate for the same job in Washington - was let go by the Buccaneers; his contract was to expire at the end of the month. Shanahan has not yet hired his receivers coach.

Yea, most likely it will the the ex-Tampa Bay coach Mann. I put it out there cause I think the guy I referenced said they thought all the positions were filled. As far as I know I heard Mann was offered the job but he has not said whether he would take the job or not, and your right it would appear he is since he is no longer on Tampa's staff.

But....he might not be cause I have read other articles that say Tampa did not renew his contract and will have to fill his shoes. So it's not like he left them it sounds more like they didn't renew his contract.
I guess if he wants a job he'll take our offer though.

Re: Coaching Staff update

It seems some 49ers fans tend to think they had a horrible oline this year under Forester.

I hope they are wrong....on the other hand, we claim to had one of the worst lines this year and we had Buges...perhaps it is strictly talent related

Doesn't everyone tend to think the worst of their own players/coaches, etc.?

I heard a caller on NFL radio today going on and on about what he was worried about with the Vikings and they finally had to cut him off and say hey, you guys are in the NFC Championship game for a reason! lol

I think it has a lot to do with getting the right coach in the right situation. Buges was the best at teaching Man-to-Man blocking which is good for Gibbs style and possibly Schottenheimer's, Norv's etc. Buges didn't do well in the WCO cause they need a more smaller mobile OL and Zone blocking. No different then A.Gibbs or Dennison might not have worked out in JGibbs system.

SFREDSKIN talk to me!!...Tell us what you know about coach Forester. I've never heard of him but he's got a resume filled with experience. I guess if Richard Mann is signed as WR coach, the staff will be just about complete.

Foerster is a decent coach who's only been in SF 2 years, the reason the 49ers OL were horrible was due to injury like Washington and also holes in the line. Their best OL (Staley was out for about 8 games). Frank Gore has had 4 consecutive 1000 yard seasons (2 with Foerster). The ironic thing is that people on this forum were talking about Solari as our next OL coach, well guess were he ended up? SF

49ers shuffle offensive line coaches
Thanks dude!! I'm just hoping he'll be able to take whatever holdovers we'll have from the Bugel line couple them with whatever additions we may make either through the draft or FA and mold them into a formidable group by the time we start playing for real again. He's going to have his work cut out for him but his resume suggest's he should be able to field a good product.

I think he's done a good job in SF with what he inherited on the line, he was probably responsible with his input on drafting Chilo Rachal. It's hard to evaluate after only 2 years. We'll see.
