Re: Defending the Danny?
Seriously. This idiot was hammered and high at the same time. That was a bumbling rant.

Re: Defending the Danny?
Yep...Snyder deserves a sh*t ton of the blame...along with Vinny. It starts at the top, a common phrase that rings true. His intentions are good no doubt, but Im glad that he has faced the fact that his personel decisions, and his other football related opinions are pretty much sh*tty. Im so glad he finally has gotten it...Bruce Allen and Shanny are the right guys to be making football decisions and I think this is the best move ever by Danny Boy....sign the f8cking checks and chill with Tom Cruise thats all he needs to do.....

Re: Defending the Danny?
I think I just heard (from the breakroom to my cube) that the Redskins have donated $500K to the Haiti rescue effort. Good move on DS part if so. Would make me feel a little better about the outrageous amounts charged for tickets/concessions,etc..

Re: Defending the Danny?
So it basically takes a high/drunk moron to defend Dan Snyder lol?! Actually that sounds about right. No serious person would defend Snyder, period. Blame Vinny? Who made Vinny possible...? Snyder is the biggest failure in sports over the last decade (according to his own standard, not mine).

Re: Defending the Danny?
i have been refraining from bashing him, but i will be damned if i will defend him, come back to me in a few years when the franchise has hopefully stabilized and we have a couple good seasons back to back

Re: Defending the Danny?
Exactly...I think some of the other people in this thread have articulated it but when you are the leader of the franchise, as the saying goes...all the mistakes are yours and all the good things are because of someone else. The last 10 years were one massive mistake and that has to fall squarely on Danny's shoulders

Re: Defending the Danny?
Here we go again...the blame game. Who cares at this point.
YES, Dan wants to win and he wants to field a good team. That has never been in doubt. So I am not sure why Skeletor is rambling on about defending Dan Snyder. The football world and the media would love Dan if he just let the PROFESSIONALS run the team and Dan stop his almost impulsive desire to be involved in acquiring certain players...like the Lance Briggs incident. That was ugly. If the sources and stories are to be believed, the Redskins had formalized an offer made, by all accounts, by Dan Snyder in a bar without having discussed the move with Joe Gibbs or Gregg Williams. This type behavior and his desire to make media splashes has to stop. It is embarrassing. My point is Dan had 10 years of running the Redskins 'his way'. Whatever 'his way' is, it failed. Some people are good at sports, others good at business, others are artists...whatever. Dan is not a Football man. It takes a rare skill to be a top GM just like it takes a diffrent rare skill to become a billionaire. Dan please stick to what you are good at. Making money. |

Re: Defending the Danny?
Ultimately it stops at the top and fair or not, Snyder will get criticized until and perhaps even when he brings a Super Bowl trophy back to DC. And that's fine, there are plenty of reasons to defend Snyder and there equally as many (if not more) reasons to critique him and question him. Like I've said before though, when people get into "Danny and his butt buddy Vinny" or "Snyder is friends with Jerry Jones!!!" etc. then it's like "Ok, well you may have valid concerns about Snyder but it's going to be tough to take your concerns seriously"
Snyder is involved, but he's not-to the best of my knowledge-intrusive. He's not much more involved than a lot of other owners in the league. And he's a better owner than he was 10 years ago largely because he's surrounded himself with better people

Re: Defending the Danny?
"intrusive"...........lol,I like that ,so you don't call having players go behind the coachs back to the owner and him listening to them to subvert their authority..."intrusive"?
