Here is the difference. I don't remember BM calling out teammates and coaches to the media. See to me that's the WORST thing a teammate can do. He's done it numerous times. Enough already! Marshall is a immature baby...we all know that. Part of that is cause he wants a new deal. Get the guy a new deal and some of his issues go away. Oh..and let's not forget the production. CP is not a difference maker... BM is.

I'm not saying you haven't thought it through, I don't know as much about Marshall other than his making the news a bit too much. He's for sure a top 5 wr. It sounds like your description of Marshall about fits what CP was when he was in Denver; CP got a new deal here, and on top of that restructured & got a heap of $ guaranteed.

Did that change his behavior? I'd say to some extent it's made him worse.

well maybe, maybe not. pat bowlen said recently that he wanted marshall back cause he felt he's done a lot of growing up.

I don't know who's crazier, LA or CP. You can't argue the fact that CP has alienated alot of former Skins and current teamates. He's really worn his welcome out.

LaVar's rant was a thing of beauty in many ways, if you can get past all the "it is what it is" segments.

My perception of him as a player was always that he was a free lancer and media whore who had great talent and ability but left most of it unrealized. He is fun to listen to on the radio though.

Yeah I'm not sure how throwing $$ at a spoiled brat is going to reform him in any way

Yeah I was one who thought Brandon Marshall might be a fit here, but it was more because of Shanny being here and his attitude might flourish rather than go the way of CP. I really dont see CP conforming the same way at this point with Shanny. One thing I feel is Shanny is going to want to add a receiver into his offense.

I think Portis' biggest problem here is that he knows he will get paid no matter what...thats why he doesnt care about practicing, playing well or basically doing anything. Portis knows he has no incentive now to do anything different....hell even if we cut his ass he still gets paid!!! Why would he care???

Re: The next Clinton Portis trashtalk victim: Lavar Arrington

Still trying to figure out who Arrington was directing his long drawn out and emphatic rant towards, but if it was directed at Portis he should have said it to him instead of over the airways. Found it interesting with him sounding as if he was trying to serve up some form of life lesson to the youth. I don't want my grandchildren listening to much of anything he has to say, for he could use some life lessons himself.

When LaVar was drafted a Redskin I said to anyone willing to listen that he was eventually going to become a problem, mainly because of the people he chose to represent him. He didn't disappoint, he became a problem then and even from a distance now he's still a problem. It's time to leave all that old has-been nonsense in the past. We no longer need these on-going distractions with Portis, past and current Redskins. Enough already.

Re: The next Clinton Portis trashtalk victim: Lavar Arrington

Arrington has bashed plenty of people associated with the Redskins for nearly a decade now (even when he was with the team)

Arrington vs. Portis is more entertaining than enlightening.

Somehow, I see Portis co-hosting LaVar's show in a few years. Or having his own show right beside LA

I want Portis gone much less for any off-field concerns than for the fact that he's not getting any younger, injuries are starting to take a toll on him, and we need to move him too early rather than too late. But I won't easily dismiss what he has brought on Sundays (and when ST passed) to the Redskins

Agreed and agreed. Good summary Smoot on my exact feeling i want a new RB in the Shanahan back field.
