ESPN: Clayton Expects Skins to Tender Campbell for a 1st and 3rd

All right well since we'll never get rid of the Campbell/Bradford/etc debate for another year maybe it's best to go to the thing that doesn't lie. "Film" or in this case highlights. Here's JC at his best. Is he a franchise QB or a just a really good QB?:

We won't get a 1st and 3rd for Campbell from anyone, so even speculating about a trade like this is pointless. Our best bet for success is to build up the line and let Campbell run Shanny's offense, which is tailor-made for his skillset. Shanahan's offense is run-heavy but the QB's role is made easy for a mobile QB to succeed. He likes to use half of the field and roll out the QB a lot. When tjhe QB rolls out, he'll have 3 routes being run at different depths right in front of him...so the progressions are as easy as counting 1-2-3 as the QB looks at all open options right in front of him. If no one is immediately open, the QB can take off, something that Campbell does better than most QBs in the league. He just needs to learn how to slide!

I think JC will be highly successful in this offense IF we have an offensive line and running game, which could come with the rebuilding of the line. With out first two picks at least, we need a Tackle and a Center/Guard. Rabach is backup material and cost us far too many points and possessions. After that, draft a RB and LB. If LeFevour is around in rounds 4-6, get him to groom as the #2 QB and to compete with Colt Brennan, who may not even make the team if we get someone like LeFevour. Late picks, get more depth at OL, LB and maybe even a CB with last-round potential. No more "best available" picks...we have specific and vital needs this year that Vinny and his crew ignored for years.

This scary scenario is very possible though. It's no secret the Rams' top priority is QB. They likely will take Bradford in my opinion. The Lions have the franchise QB and WR, there are no RBs who merit a #2 pick, so Okung could be a smart pick for them. Suh won't last to #4, so the Bucs would jump on him if he's there. Then what for us? Berry would be great but we should not waste a 1st round pick on a DB. McCoy, great but again, no DT is necessary. Not sold on Claussen, plus we need an O-lineman. I'd say we need to go with Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers. He impresses me more than Trent Williams from OK.

There's more success drafting a first round QB than a 2nd or 3rd round QB. Bradford and Clausen have 2 times more upside than the other guys back there. And drafting an OT this year with our first isn't the right move at all. Why would we give every thing to a QB who's gonna be here for one year?.I find it unfair to how Drew Brees with to NO but didn't have alot of weapons intill he threw to Colston and found out he's pretty good. Same with Mcnabb he has no true#1 WR and still uses his weapons around him .

On this video Jason Campbell has time but what he didn't do what he was suppose to step up into the pocket and by more time to throw or do something. Troy Aikman said that he should of done this and that and he's right.

I mean its just a video but look at the Bucs game with his INT's. He rebounded but this was the Bucs ..........

I was thinking the same thing ... what is with all the negativity in Redskins nation at the moment ? I mean I have seen more positive discussion about the Redskins on the Cowboyszone board than I have on ES ....

I am not as convinced as the pundits are that we are going to take a QB in the first . I know Shananhan wants a QB to develop but there are so many holes ...

What is refreshing is we are not getting reports every five minutes about Allen and Shanahan are in love with X or Y ...

This 1-3 Tender almost guarantees that Campbell is going nowhere this season and I think that is the right decision . I think Campbell is a good QB on a bad team ... just mosdest improvements in play calling, running games and pass protection and Campbell will improve as he year on year .

What amazes me is how many want to give up on proven NFL players for the next shiny new thing from the ranks of the collage game .
