Re: Contract From America

Is this "Contract from America" or "Contract from Conservatives?"

This isn't the Drunk Thread. Come back when you have a point that makes sense.

Re: Contract From America

Besides these two how can anyone really disagree with the other 8? Maybe two more people may want to tweak some but other then that its pretty fundamental stuff.

Reject Cap & Trade
Repeal & Replace goverment health care

The left jokes and bashes the teaparty or like they like to call them teabaggers because the movement is gaining speed and they know that. Even with all the liberal bad press its just not working.

Re: Contract From America

so a tea party candidate will eventually end up in office? not in this life time. i think most of the people laugh at the hypocrisy of the tea party timing. not at the objectives

Here is a good chance for you to vote on the most important issues to yourself and hopefully have this interest group make sure those issues are heard by your elected officials.

Contract From America
Sounds good, why didn't they think of this before? I tell you those tea party folks have coem to save the day . Hooray!!!!!!! Utopia 2010 baby!

Re: Contract From America

From a email this morning:

Statement on the Republican “Pledge To America”
The Contract from America Foundation (www.contractfromamerica.org) made the following announcement today regarding the newly released Republican “Pledge to America”:

We are pleased that the Republicans were so heavily influenced by the message of the grassroots Contract from America that their “Pledge to America” includes many of our Contract’s planks, including the top-voted idea to “Protect the Constitution” by requiring every bill to cite Constitutional authority, rejection of Cap and Trade, the imposition of meaningful spending limits, repeal of government-run health care, and extension of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts. We are also pleased that they so admired the Contract’s model of allowing for real citizen input that they created their own website, America Speaking Out, to approximate the same function. This is evidence that Republicans are beginning to listen to the millions of ordinary Americans that are fed up with Washington’s ways.

Republican Congressmen, Senators, and candidates should still sign the Contract from America, which boldly tackles the challenges of fundamental tax reform, passage of a balanced budget amendment with a supermajority requirement for any tax hike, and real earmark reform.

The Contract from America is handed up from the true grassroots in this country. After garnering nearly half a million votes in less than two months, the Contract from America is a blueprint that reflects what the people want for their future. If Republicans sign the Contract, they will prove that they are listening to the will of millions of grassroots activists that have protested the unconscionable expansion of government.

Over 300 candidates have signed the Contract from America, including Senators DeMint and Coburn, Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Representative Michele Bachmann, and Senate candidates Mike Lee, Marco Rubio, Sharron Angle, Joe Miller, Jerry Moran, Dino Rossi, Ron Johnson, John Boozman, Kelly Ayotte, and John Raese.

Re: Contract From America

Read the "new" contract and the numbers don't add up. Tax cut, check, spending cuts, check, war funding, check, cut any stimulus money left, check, debt reduction, punt? Lots of pizzazz and sound bite ideas, short on details and mathematics. What an absurdly criminal and down right insulting bunch.

Here's an image from the contract, can you guess what's wrong with it?

The graph does not lie its how you want to design the graph which changes how it looks. Stop looking at the pictures and actually read the graph and you will see its correct.

No one f'cking scales a graph from 17-24. It is deceptive and you know it. To the untrained eye (i.e. the general public) it looks like twice as much. Republicans selling FUD, nothing has changed.

Wow now that is absolutely hilarious, but just down right ignorant from the right. I like how the utmost extreme measures are taken in attempt to legitimize their arguements. They play to the "thats what we want to believe" in their cause, but show just how desperate they are. Im sure the weak minded look at it and just shake their heads up and down in belief

Kind of how Obama said his health care bill would save us money but now is saying that it going to raise rates and he knew that all along. I guess he just forgot to mention it would actually increase cost but simple minded people believed him.
