I think Suh would be a DE in the 3-4 as well and I like Williams too. Can we really afford to sign Williams and use a pick on a NT?

I saw them during the combine on the NFLN, and the pundits were talking about these guys fitting well in the 3-4 at NT.

If that is the case, then we should leave Williams alone, especially if we need to use a draft pick on the nose. I am hoping Monty steps up....finally. |

Jeez it would be fantastic if Monty could breakout as a dominant NT, but it would be downright irresponsible for our FO to gamble on it. Monty hasn't flashed jack squat and may not have the talent to be a legit NT anyway.

So what are the chances we trade jason campbell, I say this because you'd be surprised what teams are willing to give up draft pick wise to get a QB.

Re: Schefter: "There's no way" the Rams won't pick Sam Bradford at No. 1
So I was just watching Sam Bradford's Highlights and Clausen's highlights, and I got to say that all Sam throws are short passes, and mid passes, rarely to never did he go deep. Also part of the reason why he had so many yards passing is because his receivers would get twice the yards on a throw from Sam (if Sam threw the ball 7 yards the receivers would pick up 14yards for example). Clausen however, throws the ball all over the field. The farthest throw I saw him make and complete was a 55 yard ball, where as Bradfords farthest from what I saw was 40 yards. I'm sure people are saying hey throwing deep balls doesn't matter that much, but they do, especially in the NFL they sure as hell matter. Also in the NFL the corners know how to wrap up and take down receivers after the catch unlike Washington or Baylor for example from his highlight tape where Jauquin Igelisas or Ryan Broyles turns a 7 yard slant into a 65 yard TD. Clausen definitely seems like the NFL QB for sure, plus he didn't play with a good OL anyway so he's already fit for the skins. I'm very curious to see how far Sam can throw..

I was thinking that the draft may be more different than I ever expected. You see I had forgotten what real football was like. You don't know what Shann-a-Allen will draft? They may trade down and get a few more picks and then trade picks and players for the future. If they don't trade down I have to say, Okung in the first, if he's the best OT for the scheme. Then I'd get Toby Gerhart. We need a LT and a RB. They cleared the stable. We also need a FS more than anything. They've enough picks to find some good guys as well as a few undrafted guys. I'm looking forward to it more as the time goes by.

As long as a QB's arm strength is not lolChadPenningtonlol weak, you can get by in this league if you have all your other skills well-developed. P. Manning and D. Brees both had "questionable" arm strength coming out of college and I guess that really didn't matter, didn't it?
That said, most fans probably couldn't tell "who has the stronger arm, Eli or Daunte Culpepper" since because Eli won a Super Bowl, he must have the stronger arm. NOT. Last edited by SirClintonPortis; 03-12-2010 at 12:53 PM. Reason: forgot "not" |

Re: Schefter: "There's no way" the Rams won't pick Sam Bradford at No. 1
I think Shanny and Bruce prefer Bradford and will probably pursue a trade up offer to get him. It seems like forever since someone traded up for the number 1 it might have been the Rams going after Pace. We don't know for sure if the Rams will trade their top choice, so Clausen will be the second choice for the Skins. So it appears that Washington will trade up for Bradford, stay at four and take Clausen or maybe Okung, or send out signals that they like Clausen hoping the Browns want to trade up to four to get him. It's all question mark and the mysterious right now.
