Thats the thing that scares me about Bruce Campbell. Guy impresses everyone in the drills and now suddenly everyone wants him. I mean I want him to but thats because of what I've seen of him on film. not the fact that he's over 300 pounds and below 10% or 12% body fat. By the by: Quote:

Re: Jimmy Clausen has met with the Redskins

By the way which teams that have won the Super Bowl as of late had a dominant O-Line with multiple first rounders? I've said this before but it's worth repeating. We had two bookend Tackles from 2000-early 2008 and a record below .500. In the end if Shanahan comes away thinking that Bradford or Clausen is a franchise QB we HAVE to take him. Quote:
It's wrong to patronize the draft a QB crowd (a crowd that I am not exactly a part of) with "oh you could still get your QB after round 1" The QB crowd would have a much easier time turning around and telling you that we could easily find a great tackle in round 4. In part because the starting LT of the Super Bowl champions is a 4th round draft pick as is the best guard in the game. One more thing directed towards the "don't draft a QB crowd." What were your thoughts on the QB we drafted in 2005 on draft day?

Re: Jimmy Clausen has met with the Redskins
Favre and Brady weren't. And as for those elite teams, they are all stacked with talent also. It is like what came first, the chicken or the egg. Do you think Peyton Manning could make the Detroit Lions winners? Brady inherited a stacked team from Bledsoe, plus probably the best FO in football at the time. Plus you probably missed my other thread posts about the second tier team QBs. Brees was from Purdue. Favre was from Ole Miss, Manning was from Tennessee. All good teams for sure, but not the powerhouse caliber of Florida, Bama, or Oklahoma. Those 3 made there respective teams better and faced tough competiton, thus in my mind making them better suited for the parity of the NFL. The only successful contemporary NFL QB that came from a big program was Brady, and he was a 6th round pick. In short, these QBs from the NCAA superpowers are spoiled and might have a rougher time making it in the NFL than a guy that played around a less talented team, but still was a winner nonetheless. |

Honestly there is about only 2 worthy of that, Bradford and Clausen. Then there is a drop off to which the rest have physical characteristics that need to be worked on or changed. Lets look at it this way.... if your willing to forgo the QB position for OL and take a second tier QB then you might as well stay with JC. Which I know is what some of you want but I'm tired of second tier QB's or QB's that need a lot of coaching up. Lets get our franchise QB this draft since next year I have to expect us to do better then 4-12 which will push us farther down the draft poll and again getting stuck with second tier QB's that have to be coached up. There is not much difference in the second tier QB's. All bring something different to the table but each will need to be coached up for a couple of years. Unless the staff is enamored with JC he's gone next year. Our coached up QB won't be ready if he's simply a second tier QB...look at JC, 6yrs in the league and we are still coaching him up. |

Re: Jimmy Clausen has met with the Redskins
![]() This pic is such a nice and accurate representation of Georgia. Weird 80's sunglasses, plad pants, American flag (though sometimes it's paired with the confederate flag), everyone holding a red cup, blonde southern bells. Everyone of those girls are most likely a die hard conservative. The girl with the sunglasses on the top of her head looks like shes about to pass out. Some more pics of life in Georgia. ![]() ![]() ![]() Not that all of this is necessarily bad but to me it feels like sometimes this is all people do, minus the hot girls.
