Pierce to Return - Based on Comments

I mentioned this once in another thread. Why don't we put the transition tag on Pierce? We would not have to worry about him signing the one-year tender, as it would likely be in the ballpark of $5M, and he is probably looking for a long-term deal with a SB that is at least that big. The transition tag will not prevent other teams from offering Pierce a contract, since there is no compensation to be paid to the team that loses the player. Basically, putting the transition tag on him will allow the Skins to determine his market value, and then decide if he is worth that much to us. That's what Gibbs has been trying to do all offseason, right?
