I'm actually surprised that anyone would be surprised about ARE getting the axe. Given his slip in production last year at WR and in the return game, coupled with his $35M contract, he clearly had to go.

I'm not clear on what his salary was. The wash post reported he was due a base of 1.35 mil this year, don't know about roster bonuses. I don't know if much of his contract was still due him.

But I wouldn't say he had a slip in production as a wr. I think he caught 3 fewer passes last year than in 08. His punt returning went from bad to embarrassing, but I think he's still a dependable slot wr. He makes catches in the middle of the field and knows how to come back to the qb when the play breaks down. Plus he's a team player. I think he'll be solid for Pitt. again.

If this wasn't the easiest cut for them to make, I don't know what would have been.

We will forget that Randall-Fail was ever here a year from now.
