Former Carolina Panthers nose tackle Maake Kemoeatu.. ...He sat out the 2009 season after tearing his Achilles' tendon in training camp and his recovery has been bumpy... Although Kemoeatu's initial surgery went well, he later required a second procedure and still is not running. But the Redskins are in the process of making a major shift from a 4-3 to a base 3-4 defense under new defensive coordinator Jim Haslett, so it makes sense to keep an eye on Kemoeatu, who was a force in the middle for Carolina. Sounds somewhat risky -- a hefty contract for someone coming off two surgeries last year. I guess he looked good. I'd personally love to see some signings on the offensive line, but it seems they are being very deliberate and signing the guys they actually think can play.
