Not at all, they came from two completely different offenses. Also, Alex Smith is a horrible short and deep ranged passer, however, he's excellent on the mid range passes. Alex Smith can not play under center. They tried, and Singeltary said f*ck it and instituted the spread offense because the guy is hopeless under center. Alex Smith is very inefficient at reading defenses and getting rid of the ball quickly whenever he's blitzed. Clausen on the other hand, the kid is money when it comes making quick decisions whenever he's under pressure, and he's deadly accurate on short, medium, and deep range passes. He's also has the deep-out patterns mastered.

He's going to be our QB, everyone should just start getting use to it. However, I like it that our base isn't going gaga over him, that way when he comes to Washington he'll have to earn the respect of his team and the fanbase.
