Re: Sam Bradford's pro day workout should clear up top of NFL draft
I'm not sure the notion a defensive minded guy like Spags is rumored to be fond of the safe, solid choice in McCoy necessarily reinforces your point.

EDIT: Actually it does reinforce my stance on Bradford, I've said all along that I anticipate he'll be a solid QB, but will take some time to get up to speed. I don't think he's worth the #4 overall, much less the #1 overall pick. I've said if Clausen was gone and the choice for us was Bradford or Okung, I go with Okung (safe, solid choice). Of course, the rumor on Spags has no relation to my stance on Clausen.

Re: Sam Bradford's pro day workout should clear up top of NFL draft
I read J. Reids RI post this morning about the Eli trade. Four picks including 2 first rounders! If the Rams are trying to get that, I don't see the new Allen regime going for it.

I'm betting Shanahan is pretty confident in his ability to coach up a 2nd rounder into a quality QB in his system. |

If Shanny views him as a franchise QB then that price is not to high.

Re: Sam Bradford's pro day workout should clear up top of NFL draft
Pro days are the most overrated thing during the scouting process. JaMarcus Russsell had a great pro day. It really doesn't mean anything cause QB's are throwing against air w/out a rush, w/out an NFL defensive coordinator switching up coverages after the ball is snapped. Any professional QB ( including back ups) should look good in a pro day atmosphere. They should at least make it a 7 on 7 type of thing.

I think the thing with Spags is he knows he needs to win now to save his job. Tough to do with a rookie QB in there.

With the Rams it'd be tough to win with Peyton in there. LOL

Re: Sam Bradford's pro day workout should clear up top of NFL draft
That's what i don't get...Spags and Devaney will basically be sacraficing themselves by picking Bradford. That roster is not going to win with a rookie QB. They will look more like last years Lions then last years Jets. And with a new owner coming in who will be itching to put his own people in place I can't see how those two survive to reep the rewards of the Bradford pick.

This is intersting news. Bradford won't sign a pre draft contract?

I hope that if we were to draft Bradford, the FO would find a good deal for Campbell and get us more o-line help. I just hate the thought of a first-round QB playing behind our pathetic line.

Re: Sam Bradford's pro day workout should clear up top of NFL draft
Yeah, I feel for this kid. So young and so much potential, but the Rams will just not do well with him. As far as Spag not taking him because of his job being on the line. Don't kid yourselves guys they need a QB more than anything and unless we trade Campbell for him (Don't do it!) they'll be taking Sam Bradford on April 22nd.
Let's just take Jimmy Clausen and become the next big threat in the playoff race next year or the year after. I'm so excited to see the things in here post Jimmy Clausens work out day. Remember when everyone was comparing Clausen and Bradford back in January saying Clausen was the better QB at the next level? Where has that gone, the kid hasn't thrown since and nothing has changed except Bradford shoulder being "healed"? Mike and Bruce have nothing to worry about and I really don't think we do either. As our roster stands we are way beyond a 4-12 team and let's just hope that can get things rolling. |

Re: Sam Bradford's pro day workout should clear up top of NFL draft
From ESPN Rumors (just more speculation I guess):
"The Washington Redskins have remained quiet in player acquisition this offseason relative to past seasons, perhaps due in part to the massive front office and coaching restructuring that took place. Still, there's been some chatter that they are a sleeping giant when it comes to possibly making some power moves involving the draft when we get closer to April 22. But if they stay at No. 4 overall, a new report suggests that they have their Top 3 picks already lined up. Rick Maese of the Washington Post has word from league sources that the team has placed a high value on Sam Bradford, Jimmy Clausen and Russell Okung, and Maese writes that "it'd be a surprise if the Redskins select anyone outside of these three." These three choices are no surprise either, given that the Big Two (Ndamukong Suh and Gerald McCoy) play the same position as Albert Haynesworth. Given what we heard following Bradford's pro day, it'll likely come down to Okung and Clausen for the 'Skins. Update: In another possible example of pre-draft misdirection, the Redskins will host Tennessee safety Eric Berry on Wednesday, per a tweet from Jason Reid of the Washington Post."

I feel like we drop so many of our number one top 10 picks into the secondary that at this point lets use the pick somewhere else.
