I also think the Rams will want a deal done pre-draft, if Bradford seriously wants to wait that could help him drop. Not necessarily to us though, because Mike Holmgrem might jump up for Bradford. |

Re: Sam Bradford's pro day workout should clear up top of NFL draft
You know, if the Rams could get multiple first round picks and at least one day two pick from us to have Clausen (with the #4 pick) instead of Bradford, I'm not sure how they could possibly talk themselves into thinking Bradford is worth more than that package.
I also think Gil Brandt is really out on a much weaker limb than it appears, though no one with any clout (as in, someone who is not me) is going to call him on it because of who he is. If what he knows is that Shanahan has a hard-on for Bradford, well, I mean, how many players do you think Shanahan has passed on over the course of his career that he felt could have been complete franchise-changers? Probably one or two a season. So he's been around the block before, and knows that the picks he would trade to deliver Bradford would just end up being his future franchise changers.

Re: Sam Bradford's pro day workout should clear up top of NFL draft
This Sam Bradford Pro Day sounds exactly like 2005..Alex Smith #1 overall
QB Alex Smith had a tremendous workout in Salt Lake City, making his case to be the first player selected in the draft. Smith threw for 45 minutes and was lights out. His performance was so good, those in attendance gave the Utah passer an ovation at the workouts completion. Guess who went second all the way down at #24 if the first round??? Arron Rogers is one of the draft's most complete quarterbacks, but he doesn't have prototypical size. He's listed at 6-2, but is probably more like 6-1, possibly shorter. There are also concerns that he could be a system quarterback coming out of a QB friendly offense at CAL (Sounds alot like Jimmy Clausen) |

Still it is a pro offense and I stand by the statement that we have possibly the best QB coaches in the league (Norv Turner is also up there) and I think if they're comfortable enough with Clausen we'll be more then fine. Still interesting comparison with the 2005 draft. Spread QB vs Pro QB and the concerns of playing for a QB guru.

Re: Sam Bradford's pro day workout should clear up top of NFL draft
I'd say Aaron Rodgers is probably the very best case scenario for Clausen. If you pair him with elite receiving talent and a good (if aging) offensive line, you might have a shot at getting that.
With that in mind, I'll point out that Rodgers' perception among the league will never be higher that it is right now, and he'll fall considerably when the Packers miss the playoffs and he doesn't make the pro bowl. The change won't be in him though, it will be in his teammates.

^^Carter and Landry would get New Orleans second but I dunno about they're first. Throw in Rocky and it would.
