All this talk of McNabb and T.O. possibly becoming Redskins makes me :vomit:.

I would LOVE McNabb on this team. He could easily play another 4-5 seasons and still be pretty damn good. You've got to be high to not like this potential move. Doubt it will happen, but I would gladly give up a 2nd rounder for him.

Okung with #4, McNabb for our 2nd rounder = no brainer.

I'll take that to mean you'd have to not have a brain to make that deal. We're not the Vikings where all you need is a QB better than Jackson or Rosenfels to be a Super Bowl team. A 33 year old QB who has had a pretty good defense his entire career and a HC who makes the o-line a priority and a pretty good back in Westbrook should have had a pretty good career. Hell, they even made A.J. Feeley look good enough to get a big contract. He can keep throwing the ball in the dirt in Philly. No thank you.

No but having a QB like Mcnabb can make us that team. I believe the Viks were inspired by Farve and stepped up their game because he gave them the ability to see themselves as contenders.

I believe having Mcnabb would inspire our entire team to play at the next level, if for no other reason than purely because they know Mcnabb has been there. He's a proven leader. And playing in NFC East they have seen him often enough to know he's a winner.

I don't care what kind of team we put together. Under JC we will go nowhere!

The Skins don't believe in him. neither do I.

BTW good to see you 53

Kurt Warner was 36 when his career got back on track. In this day and age of modern medicine more QB's will last until they're 40. Peyton Manning will obliterate Farves streak one day. Heck even Chris Chelios is playing and getting DUI's at damn near 50.

But you do you think that we're close enough to fielding a Super Bowl quality team within the next few seasons? I think he could play a few years but by the time we're ready to compete I think we're looking at him on the decline.

You think it's going to take more than 4-5 years?

It doesn't take that long to turn a team around, and it's not like this team is totally void of talent.

McNabb could be a good quarterback for the Redskins the next few years, just as Campbell could take the Bills to the playoffs the next three seasons. But neither is a likely outcome of a potential acquisition.

McNabb at age 34, is likely to decline severely in the next few years. I mean, look at Jake Delhomme. At age 33, that guy was coming off of UCL surgery and posting record numbers on the 2008 Panthers. In 2009, he melted down. No one would have predicted that Delhomme was going to get so bad so fast, but a lot of people figured that the $20 million guaranteed extension for his performance was preposterous at the time.

I would like this move as a one year move a lot better than I woudl like it for the future seasons, but with Campbell already under contract, it's a moot point. McNabb isn't coming here on a one year basis, and anything more than that would be typically foolish.

Re: Mcnabb to Washington?

Great idea look how it lines up:
Eagles Get: An unproven quarterback whose red zone interceptions will cause the Philly fans to boo him as if it's their career.
Redskins Get: The only quarterback less clutch than ours who is over the hill and should be in the afc.

Re: Mcnabb to Washington?

I'm sure there will be a pick at #37 who can be very productive for this team for many years. I wouldn't give it up for McNabb. Good to see you too 44ever! Welcome back buddy.

Yeah, we gotta get some young studs on this squad, and the 37th pick SHOULD yield us one.

Re: Mcnabb to Washington?

No McNabb. There is no reason to skip over Okung/a lineman in the first round. There will be plenty of QBs for us to snag in the second....maybe why we have been meeting with so many of them. If we don't have a line to protect a rookie, or any, QB then what's the point? Just be a different jason campbell running for his life (but hopefully smart enough to not run out of bounds before throwing the ball away...twice)

Re: Mcnabb to Washington?

I don't believe the team shouldn't be able to compete in 2010 but:

1) We're not one player away, we need multiple quality additions to make the leap.

2) McNabb isn't a difference maker, and he never really has been. This is really the end of story. This team needs a difference maker, and it should look to use the 37th pick on someone who can assist us, not to make McNabb and the Eagles happy.

3) The last thing we should be doing is considering giving our rivals a proven insurance policy quarterback if Kolb goes out there and wets the bed. It's in our best interest for McNabb to go to Oakland and Kolb to sink or swim as Eagles starter. It's for this reason that, even if we could get McNabb for Campbell straight up (a good trade if not with the Eagles), we're only hurting ourselves by doing it.
