Major props to Jay Glazer for being on top of this. He's one of the best in the biz. I shouldn't have doubted him.

I don't know yet how I feel about this. I have a great deal of respect for McNabb, but I'm concerned that this could mean good-bye for Sexy Rexy! Seriously though, I think McNabb has two to three strong years left in him. And hopefully here he'll get the run support he didn't get in Philly. I gotta think they're still looking at a QB toward the later rounds though.

I'm not usually too surprised by moves the Redskins make since I generally get a heads up on things that are brewing. I would say, with very little hesitation, that I have never been as surprised about a Redskins move in the last 10 years as this one.

So, do we like this better than getting Cutler last year?
In that context yes I guess.

This is a better trade than Cutler because we didn't pay the ridiculous compensation for the player.

But the principle mistake of assuming that the grass is always greener on the other side hasn't changed.

Still, landing a top offensive tackle at No. 4 can make our offense greatly improved no matter who is behind center (McNabb, Campbell doesn't really matter).

Where this trade is a killer is in future seasons when McNabb simply isn't good enough to be an NFL quarterback, but we give him a Delhomme type extension. The 2010 Redskins probably aren't any better or worse off, the 2011-2013 Redskins are a LOT worse off now than they were yesterday.

even if we draft a good QB next year? You think McNabb is only good for one more season?

Are you saying Campbell is as good as Mcnabb ? I hope not. U sound like a Philly fan. Mcnabb never gets the respect he deserves.

love how all of the mods on the other board were shitting all over the poster that mentioned the speculation/rumor and then when details came out they were saying that it was old news and not relevant now

I mean I didn't think it'd go down either but the guys act like they work in the building haha

I love this move, We finally have a QB that has QUICK FEET IN THE POCKET! Mcnabb's ability to buy time in the pocket is just what we need for our OLINE building.

Cant wait.

McNabb can best be described as a good athlete, but he's definitely got some of the heaviest feet in the league. He's been above the league in sack rate just twice in his career, and once in a 10+ game season.

He's basically no improvement on Campbell in terms of pocket presence. I hear Bruce Gradkowski is available though, should we decide to run the chuck and duck.

This can be condensed into the following conditional.
"If a QB is sacked frequently, then he has slow feet."

This does not reflect the tape of QBs like Elway or Young, as they both had their fair share of 30+ sack seasons. Thusly, this If...then statement does not hold.

So much for rebuilding, we are going for it this year. I wish now they would have went for Dansby and Rolle.

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

Why are some of you folks mad about McNabb? That was a great move, sorry JC lovers but he wasn't going to be Shanny's QB. He knew it and so did the FO. As for Buffalo, I bet we could get a 3rd Rd pick for JC. Also there are still talks out there saying Cooley could be dealt. We are not done making moves, I trust Shanny/Allen all day!

Me and you about to become great friends, there is alot of reason, other's out there are upset, But they act like Shanny and Allen don't know shit about football, I'm sorry you guys didn't get your all american QB out of OK or South Bend, I am excited as hell, we get a future hall of fame QB with about 4 or 5 great years left, the difference is, that the Viking fan's were smart in welcoming Farve, some of you are just idiots.........

Heck what if he only stays for a year?!?
We'll have to agree to disagree in regard to injuries. Again they haven't been a major issue for him since his knee in 2006.

Is there a rookie in the 2nd that was going to give us the same impact as McNabb?

Why would he only be here one year?

Re: McNabb a REDSKIN!

Super ironic video. Now I understand it. We're not trying to tackle him, we're trying to save him:
