some of the confusion could be because the skins were not a "strike quick offense", they had very little big plays. they would ,sometimes, put together some nice drives. those drives would usually fizzle out inside the 20
the eagles, on the other hand, were very capable of striking quick. they had many big plays and most of those resulted into tds.
that could result into some misleading stats involving first downs and such.

Re: Fences to Mend?

Shanny and Allen are not going to mend anything. Hopefully Landry sees this as a wakeup call that his top10 draft status is long gone and if he wants to have a long NFL career he needs to get to work.

I believe Albert is a lost cause...we will get ocasional dominance and a whole lot of fat laziness until we finally cut him. And I couldn't care less if his feelings are hurt by trade rumors...

Can someone please show me substantial evidence that....

- Haynesworth is a bust and that he did not improve the defense last season
- The team has a personal issue with Haynesworth
- Haynesworth is "pissed off" at the team

Andy Pollin was interviewing someone earlier today and asked a question about AH, and whoever he was interviewing pretty much had a "WTF are you asking?" reaction.

My evidence is the game tape of him sucking wind and laying on the ground like he was shot every 4th play. Its my opinion that he is out of shape and therefor does not work all that hard. And maybe its not fair but when your the highest paid player on the team the standards are high. I didn't say he was mad at anyone and I am not sure the team has personal problems with him either although shannys comments about the OTA's and his rumored trade offer suggest it.

I would say that Haynsworth is going to learn about the facts of life when training camp arrives. I don't think he has ever been to Parris Island but he is about to arrive in August. As far as complaining, or speaking out, he'll be too out of breathe in the hot sun.

Mending fences? Sounds like a good offseason workout for Fat Albert.

I don't know, fence mending is a whole lot of lot of work for a guy like Albert. I would count on him to show up and fix one fence, two maybe if we are lucky, but after that he decides he's done and heads home.

Re: Fences to Mend?

THis squad, or the coaching staff owes absolutely NOTHING to HAynesworth. BUt I will go so far as to say this.

For the compensation that he has gotten from the owner thus far, and looking at his production and lack of commitment and inspiration, he needs to get his fat ass in gear, or this FO will ship him the fuck out, regardless if the union sticks their noses in the business. Shanny will just say that there were other factors, laziness, and he didnt fit in their plans for the defensive schemes they are switching to. Easy to get by that, and I am sure Haslett and Shanny are not looking over their shoulders at the big bad players union (gimme a break) when they are wheeling and dealing A.H to possible suitors.

Simple fact is, A.H. owes THIS FRANCHISE something, not the other way around. He is already late on his payment, so he needs to (pardon the expression) cowboy the eff up and kick some ass, or he WILL be out of here.

I want him to be here. I want him to be good. Lets move forward together, or he can move back, back to effin tenessee for all we care.

Hence his decision to workout on his own with the trainer that got him into Pro Bowl shape. Once again, I don't get this whole fabricated drama with Haynesworth. As many have said before, he's owning up to the lackluster (if you want to call it like that) season and getting ready for this season.

Re: Fences to Mend?

I honestly hope both players stay on the skins. Especially Albert Haynesworth. AH followed the redskins offseason plan last year and we saw what those results got him.

I do wonder why was this info leaked about their names in particular? Noone knew about McNabb comming to Washington until it happened. Are they trying to send a message to Landry and AH?

I'm not sensing any mending of fences, more like throwing someone under it.

Re: Fences to Mend?

I like it. Maybe they are just saying they were thrown into the talks to give them a little hint to step the eff up and play ball. Both seem like they need a little kick in the ass every now and then to get straight again.
