Well today while at lunch on ESPN (I think) this was one of the topics. I was with a customer so all I got was the headline "McNabb Making A Push For TO". Then they kept showing highlights of McNabb and TO yelling at each other on the side lines.

If we pick up TO, expect the same thing to be happening just on our sidelines in late 2010 or in early-mid 2011.

TO would be a big mistake. He's not good enough anymore to justify the circus he brings along with him. And I would hope that roster sugestions to Allen & Shanny from McNabb or any other player for that matter go in one ear and out the other. The inmates no longer run the asylum here...

If DM is lobbying for TO it dosen't look good for our WR's IMO. I just remember MS saying he was upset with certain players in mini-camp i'm just wondering was WR's apart of that.

Well if McNabb and T.O can do what they did on the field in philly im all for it. But then again if DM did make this request it makes you think he is NOT very impressed with the skins current wr corps.

I've seen this kind of talk alot but, it's not nessesarally true. Bringing T.O. on the field opens up all kinds of great scenarios for our other receivers. A double team on T.O. = open receivers for starters. How do you think Jason Witten got open so often.

On the field T.O. gives it 110% Our receivers would be lucky to have him here and would learn from the best in the game.

As far as MS not being impressed with our current WR's because of his possible interest in T.O. I don't think one has to do with the other at all.

Anyways, I can't agree with some of what was said in that video. Our WR position is not "dire" and "desperate". Moss and Thomas are solid and should be used very well in Shanahan's offense. Kelly and Mitchell have upside and are serviceable #3 and #4 WRs in an offense that also has two of the better receiving TEs in the league and a running game that McNabb didn't have in Philly. If we were talking about this WR corp with McNabb on the Eagles, sure it would need upgrading because they had no running game and TE was usually a revolving door. McNabb has plenty to work with right now.

Concerning bringing in Porter, Hagans, Williams...we always invite a ton of WRs and sign them...every year, just to get competition in camp. We had well over 100 players last year if I remember correctly. Also, it's probably not different than what other teams do, bring in a ton of players to work out that won't likely make the team. Signing some scrub WRs right now says nothing about our "desperation" or anything about our current WR corps...it's just how things are done.

Yes Owens could be an asset to the team but if we needed him so desperately, we would have already signed him. We'll be fine without him. In fact, Kelly and Mitchell would probably be better off without another WR in front of them on the depth chart. We need to develop them and see what they can do, especially Kelly. If he's traded and Owens is added, so be it. We'll be fine at WR either way I believe. Our big problem in the passing game will be involving both Cooley and Davis to utilize their talents enough.

Nice post Buster, it's fair and makes good sense. I agree at all points. Except: "but if we needed him so desperately, we would have already signed him".

I'm not buying that. The only plausible argument that our receivers aren't as bad as people think is the quarterback dilemma. Maybe now we have a QB that can find the open guys or hit them in tight spaces.

Otherwise, the wide receivers we've seen in Redskin uniforms have been just about like the rest of the team -- mediocre. I would hardly call Devin Thomas "solid". We just don't know that yet. We've seen flashes. Brief, rare, inconsistent flashes. That's it. Even less so with Malcolm Kelly and Marko Mitchell. Only in the most wildly optimistic scenario can they be defined as "serviceable."

Santana Moss? He was really good five years ago. But fans seem to think he's exactly the same today as he was in 2005. Uh-huh. I haven't seen it.

I'd put the receiver situation second only to the offensive line in terms of what needs to be seriously scrutinized.

Re: Did Mcnabb open the door for TO?

T.O. can wear his #81 too, as the Snyder circus shits all over the soul of our beloved Washington Redskins! I can take shitty, disappointing season after shitty, disappointing season...it's part of being a fan. If we sign T.O., on the other hand, I don't know if I can be a part of this joke any longer.
