I do think his 2009 QB rating makes him look a LOT better than he really was this season. I think he played with more confidence and made better throws as the year went on, but that ended up being short lived with the two Dallas games at the end of the year. I thought Philadelphia would win both of those games, but McNabb didn't play his best, and it's my conclusion that Philadelphia is better off not tying it's fortunes to fluctuations in McNabb's passing performance.
seemed like their O-Line wasn't so hot those games either

Re: Different Season, Same Trap

The thing about the recent mistakes of the past were that the acquisitions involved players that were not scheme-fits(Jason Taylor), not that good to begin with(Brandon Lloyd, ARE), or we SIMPLY DID NOT USE THEM(T.J Duckett). McNabb is EVERYTHING that they are not. Also, the FA acquisitions like LJ, Parker, Hicks, etc all have VERY CHEAP contracts.

Griff was also the main DT before Al came along and Thomas was the starter at RG. Hardly insignificant.

I think it's easy to assume that all the hidden offensive talent will emerge as a result of getting DM. I see our offensive line being worse than it was last year. Even if we draft heavy O-line in the draft I don't see many outplaying our old and departed vets from last year. I don't see the zone blocking scheme being something that is picked up in one offseason...especially with the talent we have. If we lose big Al and have a hard time adjusting to the 3-4 our D could easily slip out of the top 10 this year. Ridiculous home schedule, decent away...I can't see more than 7 wins this year.

Hey guys, whats wrong with this picture?

US Presswire
Will Tony Romo, Kevin Kolb or Eli Manning be leading the NFC East's top team in 2010? Matt Mosley takes an early look.

Re: Different Season, Same Trap

Only difference is now we have a quarterback, and we did have a good team going into last season but had some injuries and lost a lot of tight games...Im thinking 8-8-11-5 range.

I say 8-8 with McNabb netting 3500 yards, 20 TDs, and 14 INTs. Don't get too excited and get your hopes up, they will inevitably be dashed.
Why are do fans try to predict how a team in April is going to finish the season? This just fans talking out their asses not knowing what the final roster is going to be and how injuries play out during the season. Predicting now is just BS.

Because we're fans.

Re: Different Season, Same Trap

Im still shocked that we aquired McNabb , but we also gave up our 2nd rd pick. We also will have to give up a 3rd or 4th rd next year draft. If McNabb doesnt play well then we got hosed. If he does play well than the Eagles get our 3rd pick next season. The Redskins still do not want to build in the draft which has haunted us for years. I like having McNabb but I would have been ok with JC this year with a better O-Line. Then draft a QB in the 2nd rd if McCoy was there. Im not predicting any records , I just hope this trade works out for the Redskins team and fans. Its to early to say if this will make us playoff contenders with the O-line not addressed.
