I would love that move. Thomas seems like a team guy with something to prove. Obviously, he fits the system. |

Re: Mini camp news
I believe that only Fletch, Mac, and Henson are inside linebackers, everyone else mentioned is an OLB or DE. Inside backer, especially with a switch to the 3-4 is a Major Need in my opinion. I don't see Fletch on the team next year, and he may not be effective in a 3-4 this year. Losing Rocky only compounds the weakness, and without Haynesworth also, our running D could be a sieve.
I personally don't like Spikes at all, he is a 1 down player and special teamer with his lack of speed. In my opinion, Jamar Chaney-Miss. St, Daryll Sharpton-Mia U, Donald Butler-Wash, would fit our scheme as 3 down players, and should be available in the 4th-5th rounds. |

Re: Mini camp news
Is everyone there except AH, Mac, and JC?
3 guys that prob won't be on the team after next weekend. I think the brass would accept a 2nd, a 4th, and a 5th for those 3. Trying to figure out who else we can expect to be shipped out? |

Re: Mini camp news
Possibly Andre Carter. He is best as a 4-3 DE.

Re: Mini camp news
Those three are the most noteable, there may be a few others but no big deal is being made of it if there is.

Re: Mini camp news
That's pretty sad if that's all you can get for them. We might as well hold on to them.

I can accept only having 4 picks this year. Don't create a new hole to fill-in an old hole. That didn't sound right, but it is apropos. |

Re: Mini camp news
Sorry, but personnel does have something to do with it. Sure Zorn sucked, but Gibbs wasn't so great with his core of players either. Gibbs next to last season was 5-11, only one better than Zorn's 4-12. I mean we had only one pro bowler last year in Fletch, and he was an alternate. I sure do hope our FO has some nice scheme in the works via trading JC and maybe even AH. We need more picks. I can see us trading down also. The draft is loaded with line talent, but if we get rid of Rocky we will need to get a new LB to replace him for sure on top of the one we already need to draft just for depth.

Ultimately, Rocky has been part of a team that has been middle of the pack at best, or downright bad. The personnel that Shanahan and Allen are sifting through are not their guys, they are Vinny's guys. As far as I'm concerned, 90% of the roster could be completely turned upside down and I wouldn't shed a tear. It's a 4-12 team we're talking about after all. |

Re: Mini camp news
[QUOTE=Beemnseven;689271]Gibbs' last season was 9-7. But I agree with what you've said here.
Ultimately, Rocky has been part of a team that has been middle of the pack at best, or downright bad. It's a 4-12 team we're talking about after all.[/QUOTE I think what most people are shook-up about is the fact that the players whose names have been mentioned in trades, are players that based on where they were drafted we won't get equal compensation for. Rocky was a 2nd...Jason was a 1st..& AH was a 1st, the 15th player picked. Based on what is being speculated we'll get in return for these players is off the wall. I agree with SFREDSKIN geting in return 4th & 5th rounders is paramount to us just giving them away. Granted we were a 4-12 team last year (though some would argue we're better than that) but we shouldn't just virtually give away our best players. |
