I agree on drafting Okung, but I am very concerned that Detroit takes him.
Suh does have an injury history, and Defensive Tackles have a high bust rate.
They really need a stud LT to protect their expensive QB, and Bachus is not the answer. They won't get a starter in round 2.

In my opinion, it's 60-40 the Lions take Okung.

in regards to okung going to the lions...do you guys feel that would benefit us in terms of trading back?

If it were to happen, I would think it could help us, but then again, Orakpo fell to 13 because people looked for other areas, Suh could see the same thing happen.

Bachus is their answer this year, and they will probably take a project in the 2nd Round. I still expect them to take DT McCoy over Suh, for several reasons, and I would (gasp) agree with internetcareer that there is no chance that Detroit takes Okung over either DT. They got the guard from Seattle to strengthen the interior of the line -which was more troublesome for them last year- and Bachus hasn't missed many, if any, games in his career.

Davis has legit multiple red flags. Show me a team that even considers drafting players with red flags except a very rare exception and I will show you the worst ten franchises in the NFL over the last twenty years.

Brown's talent projection is supect. That's a different guessing game.

Bradford goes to the Rams, Okung to the Lions and the Skins trade down for more picks, not necessarily in that order......Stay tuned. News at 11 :cool-smil

Re: Draft News for the Warpath

I don't think there are any realistic trade down opportunities available. Teams will usually only trade into the top 5 for a QB, and this is not a good year for top QBs. Bradford should go 1, and Claussen should be around until at least 8.
I believe we are stuck with the #4 pick regardless of who is on the board.
I just hope we get Okung; I hope he is there, and we draft him.

This is very similar to the 2008 draft. You have one guy guranteed to go in the top 5 (Ryan/Bradford), one mid round guy (Flacco/Clausen), 2 second rounders (Brohm-Henne/Tebow-McCoy), and a lot of developmental guys after. 2009 was actually pretty bad for QB's after Stafford, Freeman, and Sanchez. Pat White was the next QB selected and that was as a Wildcat QB. After that the Cowboys selected some random guy from Texas A&M in the fourth round.

Why Okung? other than the fact that the mock draft pundits all say we'll draft him?

I think that Okung is the only solid LT prospect in the draft. In my opinion, Bulaga and Williams are better suited to RT. Brown, Davis, and Campbell have high risk.
After Okung, who I believe is head n shoulders above everyone else in this draft class, I think Rodger Saffold has a better chance to be a quality starting LT then the rest.
Okung is the only plug n play Left Tackle in this draft, and the only lineman worth a top 10 pick, IMO.

Some morons ruining their draft stock:
Quote:
NEW YORK (AP) -- FoxSports.com is reporting Southern California tight end Anthony McCoy tested positive for marijuana at the scouting combine.

FoxSports.com cited unidentified sources and reported Sunday night that Priority Sports and Entertainment, which represents McCoy, made every NFL team aware of the failed test result about two weeks ago.

McCoy is considered a possible second- or third-round pick in this week's draft.

FoxSports.com also reported Georgia Tech running back Jonathan Dwyer tested positive at the combine for amphetamines because he was taking prescription medication.

A person familiar with Dwyer's test told the AP the result was not a surprise and teams knew Dwyer was taking medication that would trigger a positive for amphetamines. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because results of the test were not supposed to be made public.

Dwyer is projected to be drafted in the first two rounds.

I don't think Jonathon Dwyer's draft stock is gonna slip. It said in a different article that he's been taking those meds for a long time and pretty much all 32 teams knew he would test positive because of it. If it's something that he has to take in order to maintain being healthy it's probably no big deal.

EDIT: here's the link.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets' Jonathan Dwyer tests positive at combine - ESPN

He's been taking those meds since 5 because of his ADD, and the NFL knew about it before the combine, and it also falls under their "medical exemption" category because of it.

But Anthony McCoy's just an idiot
