Bruce Campbell has the Raiders written all over him.

No doubt, last year I was like okay Davis will smarten up and pick something more sure, still WR, gotta be Crabtree. Nope...

Re: Draft News for the Warpath

Ah who here longs for the the good ole days of VC at the helm? (please allow 5 seconds for head asploding if you shouted ME)

@Doug_Farrar: /head asplodes RT @dcsportsbog On Baltimore radio, Vinny Cerrato makes fun of Ditka for trading his draft picks away.

Doug_Farrar

/head reassembled, asplodes again. RT @dcsportsbog Cerrato just called Trent Williams an underachiever.

Well, he's not the first person to call Trent Williams an underachiever...though I don't agree with that assessment

Re: Draft News for the Warpath

I wonder how far the Stanford running back Toby Gerhart is going to fall. Is he too much of a power back for Shannys system? If not would he be worth a 3rd on down if we happened to come up with a 3rd round pick?

Just a third would be too low for Haynesworth. They would need to add a pick or two to it this year or next year. Why give them a prize for taking our Tackle. Mcintosh will never get us what he is worth to us. I say keep him. Lets keep dealing with ST Louis.

I just don't get it.

A DL was traded about 2-3 weeks ago for a 2nd round draft pick. Many said he is no where near as good as AH. So logically that screams 1st rounder for AH. Now were talking settling for a 3rd rounder? screw that. keep AH and put him to work for his money. He doesn't work he doesn't get paid. Let the NFLPA fight that battle.

A question: Let's say we are in the 2nd round, and the Saints offer to do some trade for Brown. IF it includes Rocky, do we have to get him to sign his tender before we could make that trade? or do we hold his rights for trade purposes without him signing. I just wonder how that works within the time constraints of the draft?

I thought someone said players have up till a certain date to sign them or teams to trade for them. Otherwise they are automatically set at the tender price. They do get a chance later after the draft to again be traded or some crap like that.

I think it would be the famed "agreement in principle" that would allow us to time it up well. I doubt any paperwork goes through til Monday, which would give plenty of time for a tender to be signed.

Re: Draft News for the Warpath

I wouldn't read too much into the trades for Haynesworth...Shanny is smart, he may not want a cancer on his team but he is going to either keep Haynesworth and make him play NT b/c if nothing else AH's stock is going to fall if he keeps up his bitching and he'll realize that a better contract will not be forthcoming. And if a trade does happen, I would not accept anything less than a 1st rounder or multiple 2nds.

I still think some kind of package to send AH to New Orleans for Brown would be the best straight up deal.

I still don't understand how can anyone call Haynesworth a cancer, when we have Rocky bitching at getting tendered, we had Portis calling out Sellers and asking for him to be replaced, we've had Springs (who is a good guy) completely disappear in the offseason and getting called out by his own teammates about it. I'm not saying he's a saint, but some people are being over dramatic about it.

Any DT who has made $32 million over 13 months and is simply being asked to move to NT and doesn't comply is a cancer

So you're ok with a $32 million dollar player being asked to do something a much cheaper player (and more suited to the position) could do? Great, like I said, let's put McNabb at running back then. How did Landry work at Free Safety there?

I'd be fine with AH for Brown because Brown is a Pro Bowl calibre OT. That would also fill a critical need for us and free us up to do whatever we want with the #4 pick.
