Re: AH trade II La Canfora insists AH is indeed on the trading block.
OK, at this point AH needs to payback some of that money to get a trade. I'm not willing to let his ass walk with 30 million after just one year of service without getting at least a 1st round pick or some of that money back.

Redskin Insider:
Posted at 6:27 PM ET, 04/22/2010 Redskins might find it tough to turn down 2nd-rounder for Haynesworth With only about an hour remaining before the draft begins, there's obviously a lot flying around. Despite the Redskins' denial, there's tons of chatter about defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth. If they can get a second-round pick for Haynesworth, the Redskins would have a hard time passing on that, a person familiar with the situation said. To this point, it is believed the Redskins have not received an offer that includes a second-rounder. Meanwhile, there are reports the Minnesota Vikings are in pursuit of Haynesworth. I recently received a text message from a source who has spoken with a high-ranking Vikings official, and the official told the source Minnesota has nothing going on right now with the Redskins.

Id rather have Haynesworth then a second round pick unless it also came with a great player.

Re: AH trade II La Canfora insists AH is indeed on the trading block.
Titans deal could be close. They need to make one other move first (unless the Skins are willing to settle) and when that deal closes, and it should from what I hear, it will open things up for a trade to TN.
Perhaps not coincidentally, Big Al's agent was talking with Titans officials this morning (reportedly) Still at least one other team involved potentially

Re: AH trade II La Canfora insists AH is indeed on the trading block.
Out of all the great moves this FO has done, they really screwed up this situation with Haynesworth. My hope is that they get more than one draft pick in compensation, yet still these draft picks won't have the talent that AH .
If Shanahan "didn't like" AH, then they should have been straight up with him and put him on the block. Instead, we've had this whole circus fueled by Florio, JLC, and the morons at ESPN980. I don't think AH is completely innocent in this one, but to me he made sense by saying that the best way to use him would be at DE in our new 3-4. While it will be nice to get the picks, I feel that we will be making another team better by giving them AH.

actually this whole thing was fueled by the team actively shopping haynesworth for the past few weeks/months, even though many of you stuck your head in the sand and believed shanahans pawn schefter over everyone else. hopefully this thing gets done.

They have not been actively shopping him. They have been actively listening. And now there are two or three teams that are in serious play for him. They have not been going around saying "please take this guy"

And this is what Mike Florio, JLC, and ESPN980 would want people to believe.

if you define actively shopping the way it sounds you are, then no NFL team ever actively shops anyone. i highly doubt any GM ever goes to another team and says, "please take this guy." teams have known for months we want to get rid of haynesworth. publicly denying it is the smartest way to actively shop him.

Personally, I think it doesn't make much sense to trade a guy that will improve another team vastly, while taking talent away from us. It's not like we have the personnel at the defensive line to lose someone like Haynesworth. Personally, I think the coaching staff last year had as much blame on his not so great performance. People are still sulking because the team gave him 100 mil contract like if it was AH's fault.

Shopping him is all good and fine. While I do not want the Skins to get rid of him, I am perfectly fine with trading him for fair trade value. Trading him for a 2nd and a 3rd is not fair trade value for a top 5 DT who can create sacks and collapse the pocket. We have got to get out of this Vinny Cerratto/Dan Snyder mind set that we have to build our entire team through this one offseason. We need to be patient and build over time. Lets not give away future picks or give away value/commodities for less than its worth just because we have a boner to be in the 2nd and 3rd round. Resist the immediate gratification. |

Just remember that at this time of year especially a lot of deals come very, very close to happening and then fall through at the last minute.
