Yes, since the Rams really have faith in AJ Feeley as their QB.

Regardless if they draft Bradford or not, Feeley most likely will be the opening day starter.

That may be true, but he's not going to be their long term QB. As some people have said, the only way Bradford doesn't go to the Rams is if someone offers a boat-load of picks to the Rams, and we are is no position to do that.

Carricker has 2 yrs remaining on his rookie contract, so we will pay him 1.07 m in '10 and 1.42 M in 2011.

re: Redskins Send 5th Rounder to Rams for Carriker and a 5th (Swap 7ths)

So far, I see that he's a former First Round (#13) pick from 07. Played a great rookie season in 07, did OK in 08, and has no stats from 09.
I'm not overly excited on this trade. How much might we get out of him? Could end up starting, could end up riding the pine.

I AM EXCITED that it cost us moving from 132 to only 163. If those reports are true, then it's a real steal. Vinny would have sent them a 4th and a 5th.

This will make moving Andre Carter easier

Agreed. I do not think this in any way foreshadows moving Haynesworth. Carriker is no replacement for Al. We'd be downgrading massively if that's the plan.

So we swapped 5th rounders AND got a player?

This deal sounds like a steal.

yeah I was just about to say byebye andre carter. Hopefully he'll pan out for us. Not much risk for us in terms that we are only moving back in the 5th round. Chances are we will be able to snag who we wanted to with the higher pick anyways.

re: Redskins Send 5th Rounder to Rams for Carriker and a 5th (Swap 7ths)

I don't think I'd call this a genius move, but it's got plenty of room to be a value pickup.

We're giving up the value of a late 6th rounder, which isn't much at all. But again, Carriker's value isn't high, so this trade will be worth what we can make of it.

If we had given the Rams our 7th rounder, that would have been about the same type of value trade, but I think that 1) we certainly would have preferred to have 4 picks instead of 5 going into Thursday (one way or another, I think we'll add more than 4 players in this draft). And secondly, I think there's more that the Rams can do with a top 140 pick than with the 163rd pick and a relatively valueless 7th rounder.
