congrats for the most sensible comment on this thread. Actually picking players or picking winners of games each week requires research and talent but ultimately we do not know what is in a players mind. We don't know how motivated that person is to accomplish, regardless of what they say. Albert Haynesworth is a great example. All the talent but....and then there are just the behind the scenes things that go on with personal problems, or fights in the locker room we don't hear about so ultimately we are only evaluating on what we see on game film from "any given Sunday".
