Re: The Official 2010 NFL Draft Thread: Round 1

Vladamir DuCasse, Selvish Capers, and Edwin Veldheer could all be available when we select in round 4. Capers would be a very interesting RT, but I think DuCasse would be my first choice. Matt Tenant will definitely be available, I know he has a pretty good following here on this forum. So will Mike Johnson (G Alabama). Jason Fox seems like he's going to be sitting around for a while.

I still fear though that the fourth round pick will be a QB.

Also I know people don't want to hear this but the team might have big plans for Heyer at RT. I know I'm on the Ryan Clady kick but one of the problems Clady had that was fixed by the Bronco's coaching staff was a habit of bending at the waist. Unfortunately Heyer isn't the same caliber of athlete that Clady is, but still it's not out of realm of possibility that Heyer might rebound this year and I think that if the Redskins pass up an intriguing tackle prospect in the fourth round then you might be able to take that as a vote of confidence for Heyer.

If the best platyer available is a QB, so be it, although without a trade partner for Campbell, it's unlikely. I know a lot of fans are disappointed with Heyer's play but, it's not like he was the only one who gave up sacks. Campbell himself contributed to a significant amount of them. It's likely that a few commonly known prospects will be available at the top of the fourth round. I wish we didn't have the guys we have on the trading block. They need to be ready to play for us if no deal. Haynesworth is the only guy who will be difficult to replace talent wise but, you have to take in consideration his inconsistency and/or ability to stay healthy. Who wants to draft Cody?

Any of these dudes can make a name for themselves, simply because they have unique football names. Since we passed on a dude w/a cool name that could be turned into a verb - Okung and instead took a dude w/a name that millions in the US have, I think we need some good names on this line.

Also, add my boy Ed Wang to that list, though I read locally that some scouts have him going as high as the 3rd.

As long as Selvish Capers doesn't perpetrate any selfish capers, I would like his name in the starting lineup.

I don't know about you, but I am very concerned about our DBs trying to cover Austin, Williams, and Dez Bryant when we play Dallas. I think the cowgirls got the pick of the night. Of course, it will be just another loud mouth Dallas WR... they always seem to be 1 step ahead of us all the time. I HATE IT!

BTW: Trent Williams will be a beast with Samuels mentoring him. I don't think I've ever heard of an offensive lineman running under a 4.9 in the 40...that is friggin sick.

...and one more thing---let Marko Mitchell show what he's got this year--that dude could be our Randy Moss.

As long as we hold on to all our DB's we are GOOD Hall, Rogers, Buchanon & Barnes we should be OK.

I hope you're right cause every time we get beat by the Cowgirls, I have this overwhelming feeling that I need anger management training.

Agreed that Mitchell can't be compared to Randy Moss at this point, but the potential is there---I mean he was torching everyone in sight last preseason, and even CP was saying that no one could cover him in practice last year. I just sense something in that kid...time will tell of course.

And Romo's still throwing the ball so we should get a good couple INT's per game

Barnes and Tryon need to step it up. It has to be seen what Buchanon can do. I wouldn't be mad if we drafted a CB high on our board today or tomorrow.
