Re: Arizona's New Immigration Law

Bolivia and Mexico are different in my opinion. I will use this analogy: America is a breakfast we have all contributed. Europeans contribution can be summed up as adding egss, Mexicans contribution can be summed up as bacon. We took half of their country and incorporated it into America. That border meant nothing to our ancestors and founding fathers, it has was always been the way it is (traditional values come in to play) Mexico has a special relationship to this country, far different than Bolivia's. Their influence on this country is far greater. It is not the same, and it is fair. Bolivia, what have they contributed to America? Mexico, what have they contributed to America? Our two biggest staes for starters.

Okay. But 1) It's a State and you initially placed no qualifications - so were you, once again, simply manipulating the english language to suit your own ends or simply being ignorant?

2) Population = Area. Excellent. Yet more stunning logic from jtf.

3) Hey, they gave us Sarah Palin. Even if you just rate population, bang for buck-wise, they are rocking the continental US!

This is fun. Makes you wonder what types of things ARE important to our elected officials. Like, WHAT agenda's are they really concerned with?

So they list out each country and the number of available immigrant visas but there is no Mexico listed? I thought maybe at that time it was lumped with Spain but Spain had only 131. In fact, from what I see, no country in North or South America (including Canada) is listed. Does this mean immigration was not allowed, or that it was considered more or less "open borders" at that time?
