Hollywood needs to chill out with the remakes.

Agreed but some have been done well. Texas Chainsaw the remake was an awesome movie, I would say better then the original. Even Amityville Horror was also well done.

So it can work but generally it fails.

This had potential to really scary the F out of us but they decide to go down the campy horror film road.

They won't though. It's cheaper and easier to re-hash some old idea and try to squeeze as much money out of the gullible, uninformed general public. Originality, imagination and innovation are sorely lacking in the film business except in foreign countries where they still care about script, character development, mood and theme. Of course there are exceptions but generally, most movies out of hollywood suck. Most of my favorites over the last few years have been films like Pan's Labyrinth, the Orphanage, 3 Times and a slew of other foreign films.

Which they're also remaking haha.

I can't believe they're also remaking The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and OldBoy. Read freakin' subtitles people!

Never will happen if we keep going to see them.

NOES cost $30 million to make and made over $30 million in the first weekend.

Scott Mendelson: Nightmare on Elm Street remake easily takes box office crown. Weekend box office for 05/03/10
