Kinda dumb to compare relief efforts for a 3rd world country devastated by a natural disaster to an oil spill that a giant corporation is responsible for.

Yea but if this was on Bush's watch Sean Peen would be down there on TV yelling where is the goverment as he is soak in oil carrying dead oil soaked birds.

the hypocrisy will never be acknowledged, not worth fighting over.

that said, Things I am sure of if Bush were in office:

- Daily stories of Bush's ties to the oil company's would be normal

- Green Activists would have been blasting the White House's drilling policies

- Hollywood would have been heavily involved in the story.

- The one director would have made a movie about the White House and Big Oil

- The Government's response would have been aggressively attacked and human/animal suffering stories would have been lead stories 2 out of every 3 nights.


That these would have been valid is not my point, it's that the media blatantly shields it's favored politicians, and actively lambasts those who they hate. (and yes they clearly hated Bush)

Is it? I strongly disagree. Where the blame falls has nothing to do with the fact that this disaster is devastating families, wildlife, and the fishing industry. There is an entire eco-system and plenty of families that need or will soon need a lot of help.

Again, that's BP's problem and financial responsibility.

The difference is pretty clear to me.

I can't speak for what George Clooney is doing, but there are other celebs leading fundraising efforts.
