Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
Found this article Daily Slop: Other Teams Inquired About Devin Thomas - Hogs Haven I think MS sees promise in DT and wants to see if better coaching will help.

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
I still believe Devin can emerge this season, the guy works hard and has the talent. I hope Austin and banks both make the team just as much. I think they could have bright futures. Let's face it Santana is 31 now

Seahawks given permission to talk to Vincent Jackson | ProFootballTalk.com
Why weren't we given permission. Maybe we think we have what we need. |

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
It appears that any Seattle deal for VJ has fallen through...at least for now.

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
Yeah, he's asking for $30 million guaranteed reportedly plus it will cost us at least a 2nd round pick.. I'm for upgrades but that's a lot of dough and capital (pick) for a guy with 2 strikes in the NFL substance abuse policy and a history of immaturity.

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
This is an excellent point, and anyone who is salivating for this guy to come to DC obviously has not learned from the AH gaffe.

I like VJ but not that much. I'd pass too.

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
I wouldn't, they might double VJ's suspension time. To be honest the trading AH for Clayton would be the wiser move, in that it would be no money for us and probably an extra pick. VJ would be a lot of $$$$, plus we would be giving away yet another precious draft pick, and to top it all off, we would not be totally assured of a return on our investment. Sure it is a long shot for Clayton to really produce for us, but maybe a new venue can give the guy a new lease on his career. Look at Braylon Edwards. He was a joke in Cleveland, now he is a serviceable threat. Maybe not a consistent pro bowler type, but he is a threat. Armstrong and Moss are the only strong Wr's we have seen thus far. outside of the dynamic TE duo we have. DT had a great game vs the Bills, but like everyone has said he has a lot of drops ala Rod Gardner. If DT could reduce the drops and play consistently well, he will be a stud, but alas we are not so fortunate.

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
Do you have any idea why we aren't pursuing VJ, especially now that we know he can be had for only a 2nd rounder? Next years draft is going to be crappy, so i cant imagine we're valuing that pick a ton.

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
I would think the hang up would be the monster contract he would demand and the character issues.

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
I'm sure we will be given permission here soon. That's if we are really interested.

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's
^ Which we should be really interested; with VJ we are a playoff caliber team, without him we're in the average win range(6-9 wins).
