It looks like they would just make the ISP's shut down internet connectivity only. All they world have to do is turn off their servers and routers. Ir can be done without turning off yor television and phone. Just like you can have a problem with only one but the same company provides you with all three. Quote:

Re: Internet Kill Switch
actually, if you kill the core dns servers that handle routing, and push blank routing tables out, you would effectively shut it down. That's why the Australian article fascinated me, most of the web is free flowing, but certain core functions are housed in the US, so this type action would not only affect us, but the whole globe. Thats a lotta power.

Re: Internet Kill Switch
This is a power grab by this administration....oh wait, the last one had a similar plan. Cyber security is a serious issue fellas whether you like it or not...is a kill switch the answer? I don't know but I do know it was for BP's oil spill.

Re: Internet Kill Switch
Why are you surprised? That's standard party hack procedure. It's like after getting kicked in the balls, the kicker says, "Why are so pissed? I don't remember you saying anything when so-and-so slept with your wife?"

Re: Internet Kill Switch
It's like I said, it's not about money anymore. The central gang-banksters can make money up out of thin air. It's about control. Obama is just a puppet, just like the jack-ass he replaced. The Internet allows people to get different information than the hammer and sickle news agencies who mislead the public into debt, war, and servitude. They don't want you to think for yourself and make up your own mind. They want you to believe in the phony left-right / WWF BS so they can MF and control you. They want to silence people like Matt Drudge, Steve Quayle, Alex Jones, Lew Rockwell, George Noorey, and Gerald Celente because they're not on the payroll of the central banks. This is also why they want to make everyone come to them to be licensed "journalist". They want you hooked on their propaganda so you'll be as calm as hindu cows when you hit the water.

Re: Internet Kill Switch
Well maybe if you weren't so inclined to label it as a simple power grab, which isn't a criticism, and instead pointed out the terribleness of the idea and suggested better approaches to securing the nation's network I might be inclined to give you a more thoughtful response. Until then I'm going to give you the same effort.

Guys I've had a vision of the future. Thanks to a machine I created I can record images in my mind. Here's what I saw:

I agree 100% Cybersecurity is a serious issue, but as you are well aware, attacks are going on 24/7/365 and have been for quite sometime. Gov't agencies and private enterprise subject to these attacks already have strong security in place (for the most part). Fed control of private networks isn't the answer. The only time this is warranted is if it's provided for by a specific gov't contract supporting critical circuits from a carrier.
