I am a HUGE soccer fan! Played it through college and now coach the high school level. The World Cup is something that unless you are a soccer fan is hard to describe to non-fans. It brings out serious national pride, esp since this is the first time in Africa. It is also a very challenging game both mentally and physically. The average soccer midfielder runs around 8-10 miles a game.
I love the NFL, esp my Skins but there are very few sports than can say the have a true "World Champion". Soccer: The Beautiful Sport, The Sport of the People, A Gentleman's sport played by hoooligans.
